UKRAINE and RUSSIA exchanged 146 prisoners of war each on Sunday.
GAZA: At least 22 died in a double strike on a hospital in Gaza City. Perhaps more than 62,000 Palestinians have died since the war began in 2023. About 50 hostages from ISRAEL remain in Gaza, less than 20 of which may still be alive.
SUDAN: Rapid Support Forces killed more than 89 people in ten days. On Monday they attacked a group of people on the road near Darfur, killing at least 13, mostly women and children.
COLOMBIA: Two terrorist attacks, a drone strike in Medellin and a car bomb in Cali, resulted in at least 18 deaths and more than 60 injuries last week.
HAITI is in the midst of a three-month state of emergency for the West, Centre and Artibonite regions due to spikes in gang violence, which resulted in the deaths of nearly 5,000 people between October and June. Nearly 1.3 million people have been displaced.
MYANMAR: A military air strike on a rebel-held town in Rakhine killed at least 12 people this week. The ruthless ruling junta has detained more than 30,000 people over the past four years, subjecting children as young as two years old to torture and other abuse. They continue to conduct air strikes and other attacks against civilians, and have retaken some of the areas minority and rebel groups had gained. Some minorities, especially the Rohingya, face persecution from both junta and rebel forces.
Lord, please have mercy on these nations and the people affected by so much violence. End each devastating war in a way that brings about millions of people turning to faith in You., Rebuild with Your love and grace nations and families torn apart by war. Show them the way to salvation and place into leadership those who care for their people and who will open the way for Your good news to be freely preached. Heal the minds and hearts of those affected by trauma. Mend the bodies of the wounded. Comfort those who have lost loved ones. Show them Your love in powerful ways. Make a way for the gospel to reach the lost in a way they can easily understand and receive. Open the doors wide for Christian aid workers to come in bringing food, medical supplies, counselors, doctors and others to help families through each crisis. We speak LIFE over the children, Lord, in Your precious name. PEACE over each of these countries. And most of all, SALVATION for the many dying daily without the knowledge of Christ. Make the way for every person to hear the gospel and receive You as Savior. Use Christians in their midst to shine Your love and peace, bringing hope and showing mercy. May Your Kingdom come to the lost soon, Lord, before it’s too late. Awaken this world to Your love. Especially have mercy on the children. Protect them from harm, provide safety for both them and their families, and draw them into Your kingdom. Perform signs and miracles and wonders that will turn all eyes to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen
