Why do we insist on our own comfort when the very nature of the gospel calls us to give our all for Christ? When the One we claim to follow did not spare even His own life but gave it freely as a ransom for us?
“Whoever wants to be My disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow Me.”
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

What has held you back from sharing the gospel with your neighbors, co-workers, family members, and even the people you see at the store or other places you frequent? Push your fear aside and step into your God-given purpose.
Lord, forgive us for our pride, selfishness and our fear of what others will think. Move our hearts with what moves Yours. Fan the flame within us and set us on fire with true passion for You. Open our eyes to see the lost all around us. Empower us to get up off of our couches and out into this lost and dying world. Teach us to be rid of our sin habits so we will obey Your Spirit instead. Even now, Lord, show me the person You want me to share the gospel with today. Open that conversation and speak through me in just the way they need to hear to at last see their need for You and choose salvation. There are others in my city, in my country and in other nations who need You. Take me out of my comfort zone to step across languages, cultures and other barriers to love those who are not like me. Empower me to love them with Your love that has no boundaries or exceptions. For You created them for the purpose of knowing You and receiving Your great love for them. Then You freely gave Your life on the cross so they could be saved. If You loved them that much, precious Jesus, how could I love them any less and say I follow You? O God, help us lay down our differences, distractions and arguments, and boldly step out into the darkness with Your light. The enemy wants to tell me that’s not my gift, or that one person doesn’t make that much difference. But Your very life and death and calling to us tell us differently. Silence Satan’s lies with Your Word in my heart and mind, O God, and give me courage, love and steadfastness to fight against the enemy’s dark purposes and walk in the Light. Awaken my heart and make me zealous for You. And awaken the hearts of those You call me to, so they will believe in this One they were created to love. I love You, Lord. I lay down myself before You now. Show me how to take up my cross and follow You, even unto the ends of the Earth. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
