We are facing days such as never before. And the battles we fight are not what the world says they are. This is a spiritual battle we are in, and LOVE is the way we win. Romans 8.
Now is the time to set aside whatever has been keeping you from the heart-work you’ve been needing to do with the Father. That fear, that anger, that lust, that laziness, that pride — it needs to go!
Carve out the time, no matter how hard it feels (your enemy is the one telling you that you don’t have time for God, by the way), and step into the Secret Place. Ask the Lord to set you free from the anxiety, anger, depression, or anything else that has come to the surface. (*See the books below, if you don’t know how to do this.)
Through surrender and repentance, through faith and trust in the God Who is for us, our hearts will finally become a clear conduit for His love and grace to flow through and SHINE, drawing those in darkness around us to Jesus like moths to a flame.
But if we don’t take that time, if we just keep spouting off our opinions and worries, we will miss what God’s doing, as our enemy carries us off in his tide.
Stand up and fight together as one on God’s side. This is how we win the battle: Stand on LOVE and you will stand. No matter what comes against you, no matter what falls apart all around you. Faith, hope, and love — these three remain. But the greatest of these is LOVE. 1 Corinthians 13.
Lord, forgive me, please, for not seeking You with all my heart. I have been busy with other things, rather than making You my First Love. Draw me into my quiet times with You and speak to me. Let me feel Your heart, learn to speak Your words, and flow in Your Spirit’s leading. Set me free from the things that have held me back from shining Your light in the darkness of this world. Renew my heart. I want to live for You.
