CHINA: Floods killed at least 30 in the capital of Beijing, and eight in Hebei province, after days of storms. About 80,000 have been displaced.
INDIA: A cloud burst resulting in a flash flood killed at least three, injured others and buried dozens of vehicles in Mandi town, Himachal Pradesh on Monday night. At least one person is still missing. Just a month ago, 15 died in monsoon rains in the same area. So far, a total of 90 have died in Himachal Pradesh state this monsoon season, and 35 are missing.
GERMANY: A train derailment killed three and injured 41 others near Stuttgart Sunday, after heavy rain caused a landslide.
ECUADOR: Gunmen killed at least 17 and injured up to 14 at a bar in the small town of El Empalme.
TURKS and CAICOS ISLANDS: Three died and ten were injured in a gang-related mass shooting early Sunday.
IRAN: An attack by the Sunni militant group Jaish al-Adlattack on a courthouse in Sistan-Baluchistan province killed nine Saturday.
USA: A mass shooting in Manhattan, New York, killed four and wounded one Monday. Also on Monday, gunman killed three and injured several others in a mass shooting outside a Reno, Nevada, casino. On Saturday, a mass stabbing at a Walmart in Traverse City, Michigan, injured 11. Last week, an explosion in Los Angeles County, killed three deputies — Joshua Kelley-Eklund, Victor Lemus and William Osborn.
THAILAND-CAMBODIA: A ceasefire, which may or may not be holding, went into effect Monday, after several days of fighting that killed dozens and displaced more than 260,000 people.
INDONESIA: A passenger ferry burst into flames last week off Sulawesi Island, killing at least five. More than 575 were rescued.
Lord, please comfort those who mourn, heal the wounded and rescue those in danger. Provide for the needs of all those who have been displaced, and do all these things in such a way that all will know it is You. Meet every person affected by these tragedies in powerful ways and show them Your salvation. Guide Christians to them to share Your good news and help those in need. Thank You for this ceasefire, Lord. Please give leaders wisdom to know what to do, not only in the Thailand-Cambodia conflict, but in Ukraine-Russia, Israel-Gaza (Middle East), Myanmar, Sudan, Haiti, and all locations where war has caused devastation. Use the hatred and violence to reveal in every heart their need for a Savior, and give them a hunger for Love so strong, they will seek Truth and find Jesus. Awaken every heart in all these countries to Your salvation. In Jesus’ holy name, Amen.
