Father God, please lay Your hand on our sons, guiding them constantly into Your purposes. Pursue them with Your love. Bring to them disciplers, mentors, teachers and friends who will challenge them to walk as one with You and model what that looks like. Guard their eyes, ears, heart, mind and body from evil, and grow them up to love You with all their hearts. Protect them from the plots of the enemy to harm them or draw them away from You. Be a Shield around them, and give them wisdom to choose the paths that lead to LIFE, rather than following those around them who are headed down worldly paths that lead to destruction and death. John 10:10. Help us as parents to teach them to walk in Truth and Love, and to encourage them in the things You’re calling them to be and do. Empower us to lead by example. To have grace for those who make mistakes, including ourselves. To stand on the Word and on Truth, so lies won’t yank us around. To ask forgiveness when we’ve said or done something hurtful. To tell the truth, even when it embarrasses us. To work hard, but also to rest and enjoy the people God has placed in our lives. To love and bless our spouses, not talking down to them or behind their back, so our sons will see what a godly marriage looks like. Empower mothers to be kind, loving and wise, seeking the Lord for every decision and walking in humility and grace. Empower fathers to be the spiritual heads of their families, loving them, teaching them the Word and living what it says. Give them wisdom to listen to God before making decisions and influence their families to do the same. Speak to our sons in powerful ways, Jesus, so they will hold fast to You all the days of their lives. Set them free from pornography, lust, gender confusion, anxiety, rejection, pride, selfishness, laziness and every stronghold. Deepen their faith, embolden their witness, and lead them in right paths. Remind them to seek You every moment all throughout the day for every decision, big and small. Proverbs 3:5-6. And then answer them. May they hear Your Spirit saying, “This is the way. Walk in it,” and obey. Isaiah 30:21. Bless them abundantly, Lord, as they follow Your lead, so they will never turn to the left or to the right but will live in Your Spirit’s empowering every moment. Prepare for each of our sons a godly wife who will love You with all her heart and love and serve her husband faithfully all the days of her life. Bind their marriage together as one in You and bless them in all they do for You. Use them for Your glory, changing this world by Your love and grace flowing through them. Give them courage to spread the Good News and stand on Your Word no matter what attacks come. Give them hearts full of worship that overflow into daily life. May they fight for the things that matter most and show the world what Your Kingdom is like through their love, joy, peace and integrity. Matthew 22:37-40.
