Lord, we have run on empty so long it feels normal to us. Like this is all there is. Our hearts have been parched and dry so long we’ve forgotten how thirsty we are. We’ve forgotten the Living Water. Complacent in our sin and unforgiveness, we’ve become a reflection of the lost-in-the-desert hearts all around us, instead of the vibrant, growing orchard You created us to be in You. Where is our love? Where is our joy? Where is our peace? Where is our patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control? O God, please forgive us. Our bitterness and anxiety churn out-of-control. And we’ve been this way so long we’ve forgotten who You are. Forgotten You’re All-Powerful. That You can take our dusty hearts and make springs of Living Water burst forth, growing gardens filled with beauty, even in hard places. New life. New beginnings. New purpose. Renewed faith. Awaken Your church, O God. Set us free from sin and lies and the strongholds which have bound us to serve the enemy’s purposes rather than Yours. Arise, O Lord, and throw off our chains. May we, Your church, arise to take our place. Shining Light in the darkness. Bringing hope to the desolate. Preaching good news to the lost, Loving the nations into Your arms. And being Your hands, feet and mouth to those around us. Heal the broken-hearted. Renew our minds and give us Yours. We need You, Lord. It is time now. Perform miracles in us and through us. Pour out Your love. Bow us in surrender. And leave us in awe of You.
