Two More Hostages Recovered, Israel and Iran Missiles, and Other Headlines

Join us tomorrow, June 15, for Persecution Sunday, here at PrayerWall.pw.

ISRAEL-GAZA: IDF forces recovered from Khan Younis this week the bodies of Yair Yaakov, believed murdered on October 7, 2023, and another hostage from Nir Oz, whose name will be released soon. (If you’re receiving this article by email, please click here for any changes to this report.) Yair’s sons Yagil, 12, and Or, 16, were released November 27, 2023, and his girlfriend, Meirav Tal, was released November 28, 2023. Pray by name for the remaining 53 hostages.

ISRAEL-IRAN: Israel used 200 fighter jets to target Iran’s nuclear program and military leaders (Hossein Salami, commander-in-chief of the Revolutionary Guard; and General Mohammad Bagheri, the country’s highest-ranking military officer died). Iran retaliated by launching over 100 drones toward Israel. This morning’s wave of missiles from both sides killed three in Israel with dozens injured, and 78 in Iran with 320 injured.

INDIA: At least 290 died Thursday, when an Air India flight bound for London crashed shortly after takeoff, hitting a hostel for doctors in Ahmedabad. The sole survivor of the 242 people aboard was from ENGLAND. Passengers included 169 from India, 53 from England, seven from PORTUGAL and one from CANADA.

SOUTH AFRICA: At least 78 died in floods that hit Mthatha and surrounding areas Tuesday. Heavy snow, rains and gale force winds killed another five in a road accident and left half a million homes without electricity.

AUSTRIA: Ten died and 12 were wounded at a high school in Graz Tuesday, when a former student open-fired. The shooter, students and at least one adult are among the dead.

USA: At least 11 have died in San Antonio, Texas, floodwaters that swept at least dozens off the road. Several are still missing.

TAIWAN: A 5.9 magnitude earthquake hit south of Hualien City Tuesday.

UKRAINE-RUSSIA: The bodies of 1,212 Ukrainian soldiers were swapped for 27 Russian bodies on Thursday. Last week, the countries agreed to exchange up to 6,000 bodies each, as well as health-impaired or severely wounded prisoners of war, and those under age 25. Despite more than a million Russian troops either killed or wounded in the three years of invasion, Russia continues its attacks on Ukraine.

Lord, please protect and rescue those in danger, heal the wounded, comfort those who mourn and rebuild the lives of all who have lost so much. When they cry out for help, come quickly to their aid and provide for them in such a way they will know You are the One who did that. Give the lost a hunger for Your love so fierce they will seek You with all their hearts. Visit them in their dreams to show them Your salvation through Christ, and bring Christians to love them, care for their needs and share with them Your good news. Block every evil attack and bring to their knees in repentance and fear of the Lord all those who are bent on evil. Awaken every heart in each of these nations to Your love and multiply Your church. Raise into positions of leadership those who will open the way for Your gospel to freely be preached to every heart. For only You are the Way, the Truth and the Life, Jesus. Only in You do the nations find the meaning they seek. Only in You do we experience the forgiveness that leads to abundant life here on earth and eternal life in Heaven. Don’t let even one more person die without hearing Your good news. In Your name we pray. Amen.
