Happy Palm Sunday! Jesus is still King. Let’s worship Him and pray for those across the world who are persecuted for their faith in Him.
Luke 19:28-42
Lord Jesus, today we celebrate Your triumphant entry into Jerusalem, when the people cried out praises to Your name because of the miracles You had done.
In what way have we been like those people hailing You as King, but then abandoning you just a few days later, siding with the crowds around us out of fear of what others will think of us or do to us?
In what way have we been like those religious leaders, upset when other Christians don’t speak or act in a way we think is “proper”?
How have we tried to silence those who make us feel uncomfortable in the way they demonstrate their love for You?
How often have we thought certain Christians improper in the way they worship?
Lord, so many of us have been judged for our deep love for You. Make us like the rocks that cry out Your praises, even when others try to silence us.
Even now, Lord, Christians are under attack all across the world for worshipping You. So many voices of darkness try to silence us. But we will not be quiet. Empower us, Lord, to worship You in spirit and in truth. And give strength to believers who are persecuted for worshipping You. Spread the fame of Your love far and wide such that every persecutor will see You as You truly are, fall on their faces before You, and worship You alone.
