DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: More than 200 people died and about 200 were injured this week, when the roof of a nightclub in Santo Domingo collapsed.
Lord, please heal the wounded and comfort those who mourn in such personal ways they will experience Your love and seek Your salvation. Awaken every heart in the Dominican Republic to You.
NEPAL: Nearly 2,000 fires have raged across the country since January, killing at least 25 and making Kathmandu’s air quality the worst in the world.
Father God, still so many Nepalis have never heard the Good News. Don’t let even one more person die without knowing of Your plan for their salvation. Set them free from the chains that bind them to demons and idols. Frustrate every effort of shamans, and convince them and all those who follow them that You alone are the Way, the Truth and the Life.
GAZA: Hamas militants tortured and killed a 22-year-old Palestinian who joined in recent protests of thousands in Gaza against the terrorist group. Since Hamas began the war with ISRAEL on October 7, 2023, nearly 51,000 Palestinians have died.
Lord, please set the people of Gaza free from terrorist control. Bring a quick end to the war, one that opens the way for both Palestinians and Israelis to hear the Gospel in a way they can easily understand and truly be free. Bring loving Christians into the lives of every lost person, so they will see clearly that You are a God of love, mercy grace; not hatred, violence and terror.
TAIWAN: CHINA increased military drills in the East China Sea last week, including long-range practice attacks on infrastructure.
God of All, thank You for the freedom Christians have had to worship You and share Your Good News these past decades in Taiwan. Strengthen Your children now, and grow Your church. Wherever there is fear, replace it with faith. Wherever there is anxiety, replace it with Your peace. Be a Shield around Taiwan and all those who love You there. Invade both China and Taiwan with Your love.
SOUTH SUDAN: Nearly 7.7 million people face severe food insecurity, as 1.1 million people have flooded across the border from Sudan fleeing the atrocities of war. Meanwhile, conflict has escalated in South Sudan, as well, bringing with it the fear of another civil war in the world’s youngest nation, which broke free from Sudan in 2011.
Lord, please feed the hungry. Help the helpless. Protect those in danger. Make a way for every heart to hear Your Good News in a way they can easily understand and be saved. Bring Christians safely in with water, food and other provisions, and shield this country from war.
MYANMAR: The death toll from last month’s earthquake and 6.4 aftershock has surpassed 3,600, with more than 5,000 injured and 160 still missing. About 17 million people urgently need water, food, shelter and other provisions, but many international rescue teams have already returned home.
Lord, please have mercy on the people of Myanmar. Stop the war. Bring down those bent on evil, and raise up leaders who love You and will bless the citizens rather than terrorizing them. Provide now for those in need. Open the way for Christians to freely enter hard-hit areas and bring provisions, but especially Your Word. Give every believer in Christ favor with those around them and with both sides fighting in this war. Give every lost heart a hunger for Truth. In the midst of great tragedy, increase Your church by the millions.
