Power in Surrender

What has God asked you to do this year that feels beyond your capability? Have you said “Yes” yet?

Don’t decide whether or not to obey the Lord based on your perceived abilities or inadequacies. If He calls you to teach, ask Him to teach through you. If He tells you to give sacrificially, trust Him to supply your needs. If He calls you to go on that mission trip, go knowing He will be with you every step of the way.

If God uses you for His glory, it’s not because you’re all that, but because HE is. Only He can feed those people just the morsel from His Word they need. Only He can perform that miracle. Only He can save a soul.

Don’t wait until you think you’re good enough. You will never be good enough to do what God does. But if you humble yourself before Him, willing to be used by Him and knowing you can’t do it without Him, then trust Him to empower you. Watch and see Him do things through you or around you that you could never do in your own strength or ability.

All things are possible with Christ. Matthew 19:26.

What has God asked you to do that you haven’t done yet? What’s keeping you from obedience? Ask Him. Then make a plan together with Him for how you will obey.

Lord, please forgive me for relying on my own strength. You never meant for me to do this on my own, but together with You. You’re calling me to a deep relationship with my Creator, where You lead and I follow, You empower and I step out, You do whatever it is You’re wanting to do and I get to be a part of it with You. What a privilege, Lord. Don’t let my fear rule me. Cast it out with Your perfect love. Empower me to do the things I could never do on my own. I lay all my reservations and desires at Your feet. I surrender to You my time, the resources and gifts You have given me, my heart, my life, my all for You to use as You please. Whether or not the outcome is what I imagine, I trust You, Lord. I am Yours.
