Prayers Across the World

Much has happened across the world these last few days. Let’s pray for darkness to flee and God’s purposes to prevail. And please also join us for 30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening March 1-30.

USA: Storms ravaged southern states this weekend, leaving 9 dead, 8 of those in Kentucky floodwaters. Praise God, 1,000 were rescued. More severe weather is expected this week, both in the south and in the north, including wind chill temperatures as low as minus 50F in North Dakota. Lord, please protect those in danger and restore power to those without. Comfort those who mourn or are afraid, and turn every eye to You. Be a Shield around our homes and care for us like the loving Father You are. Save the lost. Heal the broken. Embolden Christians to share the good news with neighbors in need. Keep us safe and warm in the storms yet to come, and awaken every heart in this nation to Your love.

INDIA: At least 18 were killed, including 14 women and a child, in a stampede at a railway station in New Delhi. Many were Hindu devotees traveling to the Maha Kumbh festival, where possibly thousands have already died in crowd crushes. Lord, please comfort those who mourn and heal those who are wounded. Give every Hindu dreams and visions to show them Your plan for their salvation, that Christ is their one-and-only Way to truly be cleansed of sin and have eternal life. Break the chains that bind them to false gods/demons, and give them a hunger for Truth to set them free. Bring Christians to them to show them Your love and share with them Your good news.

MALI: An illegal gold mine collapsed, killing at least 49 on Saturday, just three weeks after 10 were killed in a separate mining tragedy, when a tunnel flooded. Lord, please comfort those who mourn. Open their hearts to long for You, and bring Christians to them to show them Your love and tell them Your good news.

UKRAINE-RUSSIA: Peace talks are set for this week. Lord, please preside over all meetings, and give wisdom to every leader. Bring a quick and right end to this war. Protect the innocent. Rebuild what has been broken. And press deep into every heart their need for a Savior. Make the way for world leaders, soldiers and every heart across Europe and Russia to hear Your good news and be saved.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO: RWANDA-backed M23 rebels now occupy Bukavu, after taking Goma last month. Fighting in eastern DRC has displaced more than 6 million people. Lord, please have mercy on the millions of displaced who have endured so much terror, violence, rape, persecution and death. We speak LIFE now over this nation. HOPE and PEACE. Grip every heart with a deep hunger for You. Where Islam and tribalism have sown hatred and violence, bring Your good news of salvation to every heart. Perform miracles and wonders, and use Christians for Your glory to comfort those who mourn, counsel the broken, encourage the weak and share Your love in ways all will know Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life

AUSTRIA: An asylum seeker from SYRIA with ties to Islamic State attacked passersby in Villach with a knife, killing a teenager and wounding five others, before another Syrian rammed him with his car to stop him so the police could arrest him. Lord, thank You for this man who bravely stopped the terrorist. Please comfort those who mourn and heal the wounded. In their distress, turn their eyes to You, and answer them with Your love and truth. Bring an end to Islamic terrorism. Visit this man and every Muslim in their dreams to show them the way to Christ. Break them from the chains that bind them to demons of violence, hatred and murder, and reveal to them clearly that You are the God of Love. Awaken every Syrian refugee, every Austrian, every heart throughout Europe and the Middle East to Your love.

In addition, over the last few days, earthquakes have shaken CAYMAN ISLANDS (7.6), ETHIOPIA‘s Metehara (6.0), RUSSIA‘s Siberia (6.4), MONGOLIA‘s Khushuut (5.7), PERU‘s Marcona (5.4), INDIA‘s Delhi (strongly felt 4.2), AMERICAN SAMOA (cluster of quakes), CANADA‘s Victoria, ITALY‘s Naples, GREECE‘s Anafi, Amorgos and Santorini (cluster of quakes), USA‘s Texas, California (cluster of quakes), Alaska, South Carolina, New Mexico. Lord, as fear rises, show Yourself strong and turn all eyes to You. Make Yourself known to every person in powerful ways, and show them Your way to salvation.
