Prayers for Guatemala, China, Israel

GUATEMALA: An overloaded bus plunged off a bridge into a polluted ravine in Guatemala City Monday, killing at least 54 and trapping survivors beneath the wastewater.

CHINA: At least one has died and 28 people are missing due to a landslide in Jinping village, Sichuan province, Saturday. Only two were rescued.

GREECE: After 10,000 earthquakes rocked Santorini and nearby islands last week, 11,000-15,000 residents have evacuated in fear of a volcano eruption.

GAZA: Hamas has threatened to delay this Saturday’s release of three hostages. Meanwhile, ISRAEL and the USA have reacted strongly to the gaunt condition of the three men released last Saturday and to distressing reports from them about two hostages still in captivity: Eliya Cohen has been held in chains with little food or light throughout captivity, and Alon Ohel is wounded, but receiving no medical treatment while in captivity.

Lord, please show Yourself strong to survivors in Guatemala, China and Greece. Heal their hearts, minds and bodies and show them Your love. Comfort families who mourn the loss of loved ones. Point them to Your way of salvation. Provide for the needs of those who are displaced and calm their fears. Bring Christians to them to help them through this difficult time and share with them Your love and truth. And please make the way for all the hostages still held captive to return quickly and safely home. Surround them with Your love, heal their wounds, strengthen their bodies, and speak to them in powerful ways. Meet every Israeli, Palestinian and terrorist in their dreams, and show them Jesus is the One they have longed for, the only Way, Truth and Life. Do the same for every heart in Guatemala, China and Greece. Show them there is no other way to You. Lift the veil from their eyes so they can see You as You truly are. Give them courage to lay down lies that have led them astray, repent and grab hold of the Truth who sets them free. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
