L.A., India, Japan, China Headline Prayers

USA: At least 25 have now died and dozens are missing in the Los Angeles County fires that have burned around 38,630 miles, or roughly 60 square miles. Around 12,000 homes or other buildings have been destroyed and more than 100,000 people are displaced. About 18,500 people are still without power. Yet more strong winds are expected today. Lord, please calm the wind and bring rain. Protect those in danger and help them to safety. Be a Shield around firefighters and give them wisdom. Show Your love and mercy to every person affected. Comfort them in a way they will know it is You. Bring Christians to them to shelter and care for the displaced, share the good news with the lost and help people rebuild. Pursue those who have run from You and turn their hearts around so they will now run into Your arms.

INDIA: Six people died and dozens were injured in a crowd crush last week in Tirupati, southern Andhra Pradesh state, as thousands queued for tickets to Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan, a 10-day event in which Hindu devotees believe they can catch a glimpse of the gates of “heaven.” Crowd crushes are common in 80% Hindu India, one of the most dangerous countries in the world for Christians due to mob attacks and other Hindu extremism. Lord, give dreams and visions to every one of the hundreds of thousands of Hindus attending this even. Show them Your plan for their salvation, that Christ is their one-and-only way to see Heaven. Open their spiritual eyes. Reveal Yourself to them, Jesus. Break the chains that bind them to false gods, and give them a hunger for the only Truth who can set them free. Bring Christians to them to show them Your love and share with them Your good news.

JAPAN: Last week, a 22-year-old student swung a hammer during class, injuring eight people. Japan is 68% Buddhist and nearly 98% unreached with the gospel of Christ. Lord, please show Your love to this woman who harmed so many. Make a way for her, those who were injured and everyone in that class to hear Your good news and be saved. Please have mercy on Japan. Awaken every heart all across the country. Give them a hunger for You so fierce, they will seek Truth with all their heart and find Jesus.

CHINA: Violent protests broke out in Pucheng, Shaanxi province, last week after the death of a teenaged student. Lord, please meet every protester and police officer in powerful ways. Give them a hunger for Your love. Open their eyes to see You as You truly are. As the nation becomes more and more restless under surveillance and persecution, break the chains of Communism, fear and oppression. Set every heart free to hear Your good news and be saved. May Your church abound in love and spread to every community and home all across the country.
