Thousands of people died this Christmas without knowing the Savior of the world. Today we pray for grieving families who also do not know Him. As you make New Year’s resolutions, will you consider joining the Prayer Wall and praying daily together with us to push back the enemy’s purposes and pray forth God’s in 2025?
UKRAINE: In Kyiv, hundreds of thousands were left in darkness and bitter cold without heating on Christmas Day, due to Russian drone and missile attacks targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Families fleeing the shelling took shelter in the underground metro.
RUSSIA: Ukrainian troops hit a Russian command post in Lgov, Kursk Oblast, killing perhaps 18 Russian soldiers overnight December 25.
ISRAEL: Hostage Hanna Katzir, 78, taken by Hamas on October 7 and released November 24, suffered medical complications and died on Christmas Eve.
GAZA: At least 23 Palestinians died and 39 were wounded across Gaza due to air strikes by ISRAEL on Christmas Day, which also fell on Hanukkah this year.
MOZAMBIQUE: Political unrest resulted in dozens of deaths, mostly in the north on Christmas Eve. Then on Christmas Day, more than 6,000 inmates, including terrorists, escaped from a prison in Maputo, killing 33 people and injuring 15.
KAZAKHSTAN: A plane from AZERBAIJAN crashed and burst into flames, killing 38, while 29 survived.
SYRIA: Between 14 and 20 law enforcement personnel died, and about 10 others were injured Christmas night in an attack by former Assad regime forces in the Tartus region.
AFGHANISTAN: On Christmas Eve, airstrikes from PAKISTAN killed nearly 50 people, mainly women and children, in seven villages in Barmal district, Paktika province.
Father God, so many died this Christmas never knowing Your Son who gave His life to set us free. Comfort those who mourn them, and open the way for whole families to hear the gospel and be saved. When they call upon You, hear them, O God, and answer them. Perform signs and miracles and wonders to display Your love and power, so they will worship You alone. Meet them in their dreams. Speak to them throughout the day. Point them in directions that lead them to You. Awaken them to Your love and salvation. Give them courage to surrender to You, and transform their hearts so powerfully others around them will take notice and also believe. Give them such a hunger for You they will seek You with all their heart and find You. Jeremiah 29:13. Lead them to believers and churches who will share your love with them in a way they can easily understand. Open their hearts wide, so as soon as they hear of You, they will know You are the One they’ve been longing for. In Your name, Jesus. Amen.
