Let’s pray for our president-elect, as he makes decisions to fill government positions and connects with both national and global leaders, already setting many changes in motion across the Earth. As the world teeters on edge, with so many wars and potential wars, both he and the incumbent president need much wisdom now. Pray the Lord will override any agendas against Heaven’s, and give them and those around them wisdom in all things.
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior.
1 Timothy 2:1-3 NIV
Lord, please give President Joe Biden and President-elect Donald Trump wisdom in every encounter. Guide their every decision, and bring forth the purposes You have for the US and its influence on the world. As they deal with pressure from all sides, show them where they need to give in and where they need to hold fast. Surround them with people who advise them to do what is right and good, who have the influence and favor to speak truth and wisdom from above in a way they can receive. Remove from their favor those who press Satan’s or their own agendas, rather than what is good for the country and for the world. Supernaturally break through every barrier to give them understanding, knowledge, courage and compassion to do what is right. Talk to them throughout the day and touch their hearts with the things of Yours. Open their minds to comprehend the riches of Your love, and to seek You above any earthly power or gain. Bring into their path Christians who listen to You and follow Your ways. Give these Christians such favor that those who follow God are pulled in close around both Presidents to have a voice in what goes on throughout the country and world, so they will have the courage to step up and make right and good changes. As they deal with Congress and with current issues in the US, guide them to address real problems with real solutions that will bring forth Your good purposes. Remove from office those who are bent on destroying a person or this nation, and raise up in their place those who will bless the people and help the nation prosper in the ways that matter most. As they deal now with so many heads of state all across the globe, both friendly and hostile, keep their minds sharp and wise to see what is beneath others’ words and to speak to the true issues in a way that will influence those nations to do what is right and good.
Sovereign God, move Your hand over this nation, setting right what has been done wrong, healing those who are broken, protecting the innocent, shielding those who want to walk uprightly, and empowering every man, woman and child to freely know the Truth that sets them free. Give presidents Biden and Trump and all who are in their administrations a deep hunger for You. Push back every enemy purpose, and bring forth Yours. Open the minds of all to see Your way as the only Way. Break their hearts for what breaks Yours. Move man’s agendas aside to raise Yours high for all to see. Spread Your arms wide to the US and to the world, inviting every heart into Your kingdom and opening the way for every person to hear Your good news and be saved. Please save all of our country’s leaders by Your sovereign grace. Lift the veil from their eyes so they will see You as You truly are. Break the chains that bind them to the evil one’s purposes, so they will at last be free to bless this country in all the ways You have designed. Give them such a deep hunger for You they will seek You with all their hearts and find You. Wherever there has been corruption, bring that into the open and give those involved humility to confess. Bring to justice those who have pressed for evil, and remove them from power. Raise up even now candidates for upcoming elections who love You and love the people of this country through Your love, who will lead the way for a return to You in this nation, for awakening, for revival, for renewed strength, wisdom and courage to stand up for what is truly right by Heaven’s standards and to love with all Your heart. Give them the highest of favor, and even now prepare the way for the one You will choose to lead our country in every upcoming election. We yield to Your choice, Lord, for You know what our nations needs to follow You, and sometimes that means coming to the end of ourselves so we will at last seek You. In Your name, Jesus, we pray. Amen.
