PHILIPPINES: Super Typhoon Man-Yi hit Catanduanes Sunday as the sixth powerful storm in less than a month, with high winds and tidal surges that pushed more than 750,000 people into evacuation shelters. This rare series of storms has killed at least 160 and affected more than 9 million people.
CHINA: A student who failed his exams stabbed dozens on a college campus Saturday in Yixing, Jiangsu, leaving eight dead and 17 injured. The attack was the latest in a string of mass killings since September.
INDIA: A fire in a neonatal intensive care unit at a hospital in Jhansi City, Uttar Pradesh, killed 10 infants, while 45 were rescued.
Hurricane Eta flooded HONDURAS at the beginning of November. Then Tropical Storm Patty poured heavy rain on the AZORES, followed by Hurricane Rafael in JAMAICA, the CAYMAN ISLANDS and CUBA. Now, Tropical Storm Sara hit HONDURAS Thursday and BELIZE yesterday. Floods have overwhelmed several other Central American nations over the past days and weeks.
ISRAEL, GAZA, LEBANON, SYRIA: Many deaths and much destruction in these countries over the last few days due to ongoing war. Let’s pray.
Lord, please have mercy on these nations and the people affected by so much disaster and violence. Rescue and heal those in harm’s way. Comfort those who have lost homes and loved ones. Show them Your love in powerful ways. Make a way for Your good news to reach the lost in a way they can easily understand and receive. Open the doors wide for Christian aid workers to come in bringing food, medical supplies, counselors, doctors and others to help families through each crisis. We speak LIFE over the children, Lord, in Your precious name. PEACE over these countries. And most of all, SALVATION for the many dying daily without the knowledge of Christ. Make the way for every person all throughout these devastated lands to hear the gospel and receive You as Savior. Use Christians in their midst to shine Your love and peace, bringing hope and showing mercy. May Your Kingdom come to them soon, Lord, before it’s too late. Awaken this world to Your love. Draw every person up into Your arms and save them.
