Prayers for the Upcoming Elections

Father God, we lay this nation in Your hands. The media is running so many narratives to sway voters this way or that. Even other nations have already begun to infiltrate social media to influence the elections. But we know there is only One who is Sovereign always. Kingdoms rise and kingdoms fall. Only one Kingdom lasts forever. Please, O God, press Heaven’s ideals into the heart of every candidate and voter. Strike them with a longing for Truth, Life, freedom, Hope, joy and peace. Give them a longing for You. Wherever we’ve pursued or promoted something else, remind us that You are the One we were created for, that only in a deep, personal relationship with You will we find the meaning and freedom in life we’re looking for. Show us clearly who You are, Jesus. Invade our space. Get up in our face. Lead us in Your paths, and no matter what the media does or how many lies go out across America and the world, we ask You now for Truth to reign and for Your choice for our President to be elected. We’d like it to be someone who will bless our country and turn back evil, who will offer life and hope to those who have been oppressed or held back. We’d like to see churches thrive and grow, children free to be children without the heavy burden of being pressured into evil choices they don’t even understand. We’d like to see families thrive, the lost saved, drugs and crime out of commission, safety at our borders and in every home and city. We’d like to see justice and freedom reign, lies crushed and truth exposed to all. But we also know that often it is in times of deepest darkness that Your Light shines brightest. So we hand this nation and this decision to You, O God. We lay down all our opinions and ideas, hopes and dreams at Your feet, and ask You for Your person to do the job that You know must be done. Please move every mind and heart in Your directions. And bring salvation near to every candidate and everyone on their staff. Lift the veil from their eyes so they will see You as You truly are. Give them such a hunger for You, they will lay down all their agendas to seek Yours. Awaken the USA to Your ideals, O God, to salvation and freedom only found through Jesus. Give godly wisdom to every leader. Tear down animosity, corruption, deceit and every evil scheme. Stop it in its tracks. Give candidates Your agendas and Your plans for restoring and rebuilding all that once was good but now has broken. Build a government that truly cares about our citizens and what is right, that will bring forth Your purposes in this nation and in the world. In Your name, Jesus. Amen.
