Prayers for Eritrea, Ukraine, DRC, North Korea

Let’s pray through the headlines this week. If you’re joining us, please comment, so this post will be seen by all the more Christians who will pray. Help us build the army or prayer warriors!

At least 12 died and 53 were rescued in the English Channel on Tuesday when a boat carrying migrants, mostly from ERITREA, capsized. Ten who died were women and several were minors.

Lord, we ask You, please for this country so oppressive to their citizens. Raise up leaders in all areas of life who love their people and do good. Give Christians favor and raise them into position where they can bless the people. Turn the tide of evil, torture, murder and poverty. For these migrants who sought a better life and now barely escaped death, please bring them to a safe place. Comfort those who mourn and give every migrant and every Eritrean a deep hunger for Truth and Love. May they seek You with all their hearts and find You. Make a way for Your gospel to reach every Eritrean. Lift the veil from their eyes so they can see You as You truly are. And save them. Awaken Eritrea now to Your love, O God. Don’t let even one more Eritrean die without the chance to know You.

RUSSIA struck a military academy and nearby hospital in Poltava, UKRAINE with two ballistic missiles Tuesday, killing more than 50 and wounding more than 200. Russian troops are now close to capturing Ukraine’s key city of Pokrovsk.

Lord, please bring a quick end to this war. Protect the innocent. Comfort those who mourn. Rescue those in danger. Heal the wounded. And, please, Lord, save the lost. Bring forth an unstoppable church-planting movement with tens of thousands coming to faith in both Russia and Ukraine because they have experienced the horrors of war and death and long for freedom and LIFE. Be their Hope, Jesus. Make the way for every soldier, officer, leader and civilian to hear the good news and be saved.

More than 120 people died, mostly by suffocation and jostling, in a mass jailbreak attempt from Makala Central Prison in Kinshasa, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO on Monday.

Lord, so much more evil was involved in this event. You know the women raped, You know those held in this overcrowded facility without a fair trial. And You also know every criminal heart that long ago turned against You. Now, in the midst of this tragedy, please turn every heart to You. Every guard, every inmate, every person who mourns or is injured. Show them Jesus. Make it clear to them that You are the only Way, Truth and Life. So many of those who do such terrible evil are Muslims, Lord. They don’t understand that You are the God of Love, not violence, hatred and murder. Meet them in their dreams. Show them who You truly are. Bring them to their knees in repentance and fear of the Lord. And save them. Awaken the DRC to Your love, O God. Make a way for every person to hear the good news in a way they can easily understand and be saved.

After around 4,000 people died and some 15,000 were displaced in NORTH KOREA this summer due to floods and landslides, leader Kim Jong-Un reportedly ordered the execution of up to 30 officials.

O Father, our hearts grieve at the thought of thousands dying having never heard Your good news because of a leader who will not allow it. So many could have abundant life through You if they could but know You. Please bring the downfall of Kim and all who join him in this horrifically oppressive regime. Release from labor camps and prisons the many Christians who are there simply because they love — love You and love others. May your good news spread swiftly throughout North Korea. Give every heart, including Kim’s, a deep, deep hunger for Truth and Love. Give them a hunger for You. Make the way for every heart to hear the gospel in a way they can easily understand and be saved. Yes, Lord, release the captives. Awaken North Korea to You.
