BURKINA FASO: More than 100 Muslim al-Qaeda-linked terrorists attacked and killed about 300 people, mostly civilians and many of them Christians, last Saturday in Barsalogho village near Kaya. One report said they pulled 26 men out of a church and shot them.
Lord, please comfort those who mourn, heal those who are wounded and traumatized, and empower Christians to forgive and to help those in need. Visit every murderer in their dreams and strike them with fear of the Lord, so that they drop their weapons and false religion and surrender to the One True God whose name is Love.
NEPAL: At least 27 died and 16 were injured when an tourist bus carrying 43 Hindu pilgrims, mostly from INDIA, fell into the Marsyangdi River near Tanahu district August 23.
Lord, in the midst of this terrible tragedy, please give survivors and those who mourn a deep hunger for Truth. Remind them how short life is and give them a longing for more than a life lived worshipping hundreds of false gods. Visit them in their dreams and bring Christians to them to tell them the good news about salvation through Jesus. Give them courage to lay down their idols and follow the One True God.
JAPAN: At least 6 have died and more than 4 million were ordered to evacuate this week due to Typhoon Shanshan.
Lord, please protect those who are trapped or in danger. As they cry out in fear and mourn their losses, please turn their hearts to You. Meet them in the midst of their troubles and show them the way to salvation. Bring Christians to them to love them and help them, and point them to internet sites with the gospel. Make a way for each person to hear the good news in a way they can easily understand.
Awaken every heart in Burkina Faso, Nepal, India and Japan to You, O Lord. Lift the veil from their eyes so they can see You as You truly are, and draw them up into Your arms to be saved. Bring forth a church planting movement in each of these countries, tearing down every wall that has stood against the gospel and making the way for every person to hear of Your love and make a choice to follow You.
