A Prayer for our Nation, Leaders, Elections

Lord, we come before You now for this nation. The enemy has his plans, but we ask for Your plans, O Sovereign God. We long for a nation where people are free to worship and love You, to go about their days doing the things that matter most, where every child is fed and those who are old need not worry how they will cope. Where those who seek to do what is right are hailed and even helped. Where corruption and deceit, lies and propaganda, slander and evil agendas are no longer what political leaders, media agencies, healthcare and education systems are known for. Where we can safely eat, safely raise our children, safely live in our homes and walk our streets and run businesses and do life. Where love is the highest value, and hatred and evil is stopped. Where police have what they need to do what must be done to keep neighborhoods safe. Where drugs are diminished and unavailable, and criminals shrink at the thought of doing evil. Where our borders and homes and families are safe. Where we can make the money we need to feed our families, and buy and drive and live and grow food and save and help our neighbors. Where our nation is a friend of the nations, respected and sought out, with leaders who walk in wisdom, restraining evil and opening the way for what is right to prevail. Yes, Lord, we long for a leader who does what is best for this country and others. Who doesn’t cover up horrific evils for monetary and political gain. But instead walks in integrity, seeking to better all aspects of this country, including safety, freedom of speech, fair elections, integrity in media, economics, education, health care, businesses, food and pharma industry, knowledge, science, government, opportunity, rescue in times of catastrophe, protection over our children’s minds and bodies, freedom of religion, right to life, faith and human values. We long for a just justice system, where criminals stay in prison and police are upright and keep us safe. Where governors and mayors do what is right by their citizens and make our states and cities safe and even beautiful. Father, we are tired of the lies, sad for the many who believe them and how that affects our country. We long for Your kingdom to come in the hearts of every political leader, every aspect of our government and life, every heart. We long for revival to spring up and spread throughout the land in our churches and into every home. We long for the lost to be saved, for the children to not only be born but to grow up in safety and with the opportunity to know their Creator and Savior. We long for a place that doesn’t just look like every other nation run by tyrants who do as they please. We long for a nation under God, indivisible, with liberty for all. We long for You to be our Leader. For fear of the Lord to be the only fear we have. We ask You for these things, Father God. But we also lay this nation in Your hands. For You often use what the enemy means for evil to do great good. So, we ask You to crush the enemy and every plot he has on this nation. We ask for Your choice for President and all the positions in Cabinet, Senate and House, in every district, state and other political position throughout the country. Do what You will, Abba Father. And awaken our nation, every heart, every leader, every church, every home to Your love and salvation. Make the way for Truth to be heard. Move hearts in Your directions. Surprise us with Your love. And change us. Teach us to truly surrender to the One this life is for. To rest in You and in You find find our peace and salvation. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit so we speak the words You place on our lips and think the thoughts that honor You. Give us faith to move mountains, and to love beyond borders. March Your armies of angels through this nation, and perform signs and miracles and wonders to turn all hearts to You. May this be a nation sought after for those seeking You. And may we each seek You and find You, because we seek for You in earnest and are at last found in You. In Your name, Jesus. Amen.
