After Wednesday’s beautiful report of God answering our prayers for Haiti, let’s pray all the more boldly for the lost throughout the world in need of a Savior:
INDIA: Mobs of activists and doctors have taken to the streets in cities across the country to demand justice for a doctor trainee raped and killed in a hospital while on duty, and for greater safety measures for all medical workers.
Lord, please move hospitals, law enforcement and other authorities to put in place greater measures of safety and protection for medical workers, especially women. But most of all, press a deep hunger for Truth and Love in the hearts of every person affected deeply by the murder. You, O Lord, are the true Healer. Make the way for every medical worker in all of India to hear the gospel in a way they can easily understand, and turn to You. Then use them to share Your love with the hurting. Raise up Christians all over India to step into the medical field and flood it with Your love and healing.
PUERTO RICO, the LEEWARD ISLANDS, BERMUDA: Hurricane Ernesto left flooding and destruction. Now it’s headed toward Newfoundland, CANADA.
Father God, please comfort those picking up the pieces after Ernesto, and protect those still in the storm’s path. Give every heart a hunger for Jesus, speak to them in powerful ways, and send loving Christians to minister to those in need, share the gospel with them and lead them to Christ.
GAZA: The death toll is now over 40,000 in Gaza. On Friday, mediators from the US, EGYPT and QATAR presented a proposal for a permanent ceasefire and the release of hostages; it is still under consideration by ISRAEL and Hamas.
Lord, please bring a quick and right end to this war. Give all those in authority wisdom and bring forth Your purposes. Protect the innocent from harm, make a way for the release, rescue or escape of hostages, and for an end to the violence in Gaza. But most of all, Lord, we ask You to plant a deep, deep hunger for Truth in the heart of every Jew and Muslim. Drive them to hate violence and seek the one true God of Love. Meet them in their dreams, in scriptures, and in their thoughts throughout the day; and show them Christ. Give them courage to lay down their weapons and anger, and surrender to You.
