Where Tensions Rise

NORTH KOREA: North Korea has sent yet more trash-laden balloons into South Korea, which has retaliated with anti-Pyongyang propaganda broadcasts blasted on loudspeakers.

Lord, please give every heart in North Korea a deep hunger for truth and freedom, and open the way for them to hear the good news about Christ and be saved. Be a Shield around every persecuted Christian and use them to boldly share Your good news with those who seek You.

UKRAINE: After RUSSIA recently captured several lightly defended border towns, Ukrainian troops surrounded as many as 400 Russian soldiers in central Vovchansk last weekend; 30 surrendered.

Lord, please quickly bring an end to this war and restore peace in this region. But most of all, meet every soldier on both sides in such personal and powerful ways, they will know the Truth who sets them free. Don’t let even one more person die in this war without hearing the good news that leads to salvation. Awaken every heart in Russia and Ukraine to Your love.

BRAZIL: About 10,000 women took to the streets of Sao Paulo Saturday to protest a new bill that would equate abortion after 22 weeks to murder.

Lord, please wrap Your arms around every woman who has been abused or is struggling with an unwanted pregnancy. Speak Your tender words to her telling of Your steadfast love, and draw her into salvation. Guard the lives of unborn children and use Christians and churches to welcome with open arms mothers in desperate situations. Provide loving home for babies unwanted by their parents, and raise them up to know You as their Perfect Father.

YEMEN: Iranian-backed Houthis continue to attack cargo and other ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden in retaliation for Israeli strikes against Gaza.

Lord, please alert ships throughout these seas of terrorist attacks and foil them. Visit every Houthi in their dreams in such powerful ways they will put aside their religion of hatred, violence and murder, and choose Christ’s love. Give them a hunger for You so deep, they will seek Truth with all their hearts and find You.

SPRATLY ISLANDS: Territorial disputes in the South China Sea led to a collision between a Chinese vessel and a Philippine supply ship Monday. CHINA, TAIWAN and VIETNAM all claim ownership for the entire group of more than 100 small islands and reefs, while MALAYSIA and the PHILIPPINES claim portions.

Lord, we ask You for each of these nations and for the islands. Awaken them to Your love. Protect each of these countries and those traveling in vessels upon the ocean from interactions that could lead to war. And lead them to the gospel that brings life and salvation instead.
