For Fathers

As Fathers Day approaches this coming Sunday, here’s some encouragement from the heart of our Perfect Father:

My son, I know your heart. You have longed to be the perfect father, to not make the same mistakes your own father did, to raise your children up to love Me, to empower them to be all I created them to be. I know it’s hard, and sometimes you’ve said and done things you’ve regretted. I forgive you, and they can, too, for love covers a multitude of sins. But this I ask of you: Whenever you make a mistake, humbly ask their forgiveness, and seek Me to set you free. Let Me knock down the lies that keep you from walking in My Spirit and rebuild you with My truth. I’m not like earthly fathers. I’m Perfect. And I know exactly what your children need. Let Me heal you and empower you to lead them into My arms.

Let’s pray for Christian fathers today. Ask God to speak deeply to their hearts and give them courage to stand in humility and the Spirit’s leading to love their families well.
