It’s easy to get so busy with even good causes that we forget the eternal thing that matters most: LOVE.
So many Christian marriages, families, teams, companies and organizations have fallen apart because leaders are more concerned with rules, control, image or accomplishment than with truly caring about those they lead and serve.
How much we accomplish or how great others think we are won’t amount to anything in the end. Only how well we loved. Matthew 22:37-40, 1 Corinthians 13:13, 1 John 4:8.
As Fathers Day approaches, let’s pray for parents, pastors, missionaries and other leaders and Christian influencers to follow Christ’s example and lead through selfless love.
Lord, today we lift up men who serve You in roles of ministry throughout the world. Guard them from temptation and evil. Mold their minds into the mind of Christ. Fill them with love and power through Your Holy Spirit to stand strong and fight for the things that matter most. Surround them and their families with Your angels and fill their homes and churches with Your felt presence. Whenever someone steps foot into their home or the place they serve or even within the radius surrounding them, let them feel Your touch, melt with humility and conviction of sin, and listen to the words You speak through Your servant. For we ask You, Lord, to empower every man of God with the words that bring healing, salvation and a shifting of purposes into Yours. When they open their mouth, may they speak Jesus. Use every man of God for Your glory to join with You in rescuing the lost from the clutches of the evil one and drawing them into Your kingdom. Gift Your servants to teach, preach, evangelize, heal, disciple, administer, admonish and build Your church in every way. Be their Shield and fight for them. Stand in the way of every evil attack against them. Purify them and give them favor in the eyes of governments, communities and all people. Tear down every stronghold that has controlled their thoughts and actions instead of Your Holy Spirit. Draw them constantly into Your Word and show them practical ways to walk out in it. Remind them to pray before they decide, to let YOU be the Head of their churches, homes and ministries. Open their ears to hear Your voice and their eyes to see all people through Yours. Give them visions for the futures You have planned, dreams that draw them into Your purposes, and prophetic messages for Your church to draw us all back onto Your paths. Awaken Your church, Lord, throughout the world, and anoint every missionary, pastor, worship leader, Bible teacher and lay worker to be spiritual leaders, raising up a new generation of godly men and women who will push back the darkness and blaze forth Your purposes on this Earth. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
