Iran, Niger, Ukraine, New Caledonia: Praying Peace Amid Unrest

IRAN: President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and other high-ranking officials died in a helicopter crash Sunday. By law, Iran must hold elections for a new president within the next 50 days.

Lord, we ask You to please lay Your hand on Iran in this vulnerable time. Awaken every heart to Your truth and love. Move into place those You have chosen for each office. Visit every leader, candidate, as well as Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in their dreams every night, convicting them of their sins and showing them the way to salvation. Give them and every heart all throughout Iran a fear of the Lord and hunger for Your love so deep they will seek Truth with all their hearts and find Him.

NEW CALEDONIA: Hundreds of injuries and at least six deaths mark a week of violence in the French South Pacific territory because of electoral reforms passed in Paris.

Father God, please calm angry hearts, protect the innocent and end the violence. Give officials and security personnel wisdom, and bring Christians to those who are hurting to shine Your love and peace in the midst of such unrest. Awaken every heart in New Caledonia to You.

NIGER: Since the elected president was overthrown last year, French and US troops formerly monitoring jihadist activity in the Sahel region from military posts within Niger must now withdraw.

Sovereign God, please protect Christians and others who are persecuted by Muslim extremists in Niger, Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Nigeria, Chad, Sudan and Eritrea. March in Your angel armies to quell violence and restore peace in the region. Lift the veil from the eyes of every Muslim so they will see You as You truly are and turn to Christ for salvation. Break the chains that bind jihadists to evil and violence. Give them dreams and visions to open their hearts to Truth and grip them with fear of the Lord, agony over their sin and a deep need for Christ. Awaken the Sahel region to Your love, O God. Make the way for every tribe, tongue and language to hear Your good news in a way they can easily understand and be saved.

GAZA: More than 810,000 Palestinians have fled Rafah after evacuation orders were given ahead of an Israeli offensive. Aid distribution in that area has halted due to inaccessibility of supplies. In addition, aid organizations were unable to distribute the 569 tonnes of food and other aid which entered Gaza through the US-built pier due to looting by desperate crowds.

Lord, please have mercy on the more than 1.7 million displaced people in Gaza. When they cry out to You, answer them. Provide for their needs in such a way they will know You are the One who did that. Bring Christian doctors and aid workers to them to help them through this difficult time and to share with them the good news about Christ. Meet them in their dreams, awaken every heart to Your love, show them the Truth who sets them free, and save them by the thousands.

UKRAINE: At least 11 died and dozens sustained injuries in attacks on Kharkiv and Kupiansk Sunday.

Lord, please comfort those who mourn, heal those who are hurting and protect those in danger. Bring Christians to help the needy and supply Bibles to those looking for meaning in the midst of such tragedy. Awaken every Russian and Ukrainian heart to Your love and salvation. Bring an end to the violence and restore peace and protection. Use this terrible war to grow Your church in both Russia and Ukraine.
