UKRAINE: RUSSIA has taken the town of Avdiivka, which Ukraine defended for some ten years. In the chaotic withdrawal of troops, hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers are believed to have been captured. Pressure now builds near Bakhmut, Mariinka, Kupiansk and Zaporizhzhia.

Lord, please step into Avdiivka to care for the wounded and heal those who mourn. Wrap Your arms around every captured soldier and let them feel You near. For those who retreated and feel afraid, strengthen them with courage. For the citizens of Bakhmut, Mariinka, Kupiansk and Zaporizhzhia and the outlying areas, please protect those in danger. And for every heart among the civilians and both Russian and Ukrainian soldiers, we ask You, Lord, to give them a hunger for Your love and peace. When they cry out to You, answer them, and show them Christ. Put Your Word in their hearts and minds. Lift the veil from their eyes so they can see You as You truly are, and save them. For You are the Resurrection and the Life. You have a plan for their lives that puts an end to the true battle they are in and brings peace beyond this world’s understanding.

ISRAEL: A Palestinian terrorist open-fired at a Re’em Junction bus stop near Kiryat Malachi last Friday, killing two Israelis and wounding several others. An off-duty IDF reservist officer shot and killed the assailant.

GAZA: In a deal between Israel and Hamas brokered by QATAR and FRANCE, urgently needed medications are confirmed to have reached hostages held by Hamas and humanitarian aid is to be delivered to civilian areas of Gaza hardest hit by the war. Meanwhile, the evacuation of a million people in Rafah, most of whom have already been displaced several times over, has begun ahead of an IDF offensive there.

Lord, please comfort those who mourn in Israel, invade the memories of those who cannot forget the evils they’ve seen done, heal their minds and hearts, protect them from harm, give them compassion for the many Palestinians suffering in the midst of this war, and turn all hearts to You. Thank You, Lord, for the medicine and aid for Gaza. Please deliver it to those in need. And we ask You, Lord, to please get healthy food into Gaza City to reach the Christians harboring there, as well as all other needy civilians, especially children and nursing mothers. Please be a Shield around the hostages. Move their guards to treat them well and even to open the way for their escape. We ask You, Lord, especially for the women. Fill their captors with disgust at the thought of rape. Invade terrorists’ dreams and show them Jesus. Turn their hearts from violence and evil and give them a deep, deep hunger for Your love. Bring every Hamas militant to their knees in fear of the Lord and show them who You are, O God of Love. Show them they have served a false god, and hand them Your way of salvation. For the millions of Muslims all throughout Gaza who are hurting, starving and grieving the loss of loved ones, we ask You, Lord, to show Yourself to them. When they cry out to You, answer them in such a way that all eyes point to Jesus. We thank You, Lord, for the hundreds who have come to Christ already in the midst of this war. We ask You for thousands, even millions more. Bring forth a great church planting movement all throughout this region. Turn both Palestinian and Israeli hearts to Jesus. And bring an end to this war soon, Lord. For those in Rafah who are deciding how and where to take their families, direct them to safety and do it in a way that they know it is You. We ask You, Lord, to give wisdom and compassion to Israeli soldiers and leaders aiding in the evacuation. Please push back every enemy purpose and bring forth Yours in every heart. In Your name, Jesus. Amen.

PAPUA NEW GUINEA: At least 26 people died Sunday in a gunfight between warring tribes in the highlands of Enga Province. There are some 885 people groups speaking nearly that many languages in PNG. All but one of the tribes has had mission work among them.

Lord, of those involved in this fight, if any have heard Your Good News, we ask You to please remind them of Your words that bring LIFE and turn them away from this path of death. Meet them in their dreams, talk with them throughout the day, and show them Your great love and Your plan for their salvation. Break the chains that bind them to the enemy’s purposes, and offer them Your abundant life and freedom sin strongholds and death. Awaken all of Papua New Guinea to Your truth and love.

TAIWAN: Last week, a Chinese fishing boat ventured too close to a Taiwan-controlled island and capsized in their attempt to flee the coastguard. Taiwan rescued two of the fishermen, but two died. Now, CHINA has increased its patrols in the waters between Xiamen and the Taiwan-controlled Kinmen islands. On Monday, the Chinese coastguard boarded a Taiwanese tourist boat carrying 11 crew and 23 passengers for about half an hour.

Lord, please march in with Your angel armies and fight back Satan’s purposes, bringing forth Yours. We thank You, Lord, for the many Christians in Taiwan and the freedom they have had to worship You. Please guard that freedom and protect this island from aggressors. Give wisdom to those who patrol these waters, and wisdom to leaders making decisions. Most of all, Lord, we ask You to give a hunger for You to every heart in China and Taiwan that needs You so desperately. Make a way for every person to hear Your Good News in a way they can easily understand and be saved. Push back the enemy’s purposes and bring forth Yours in this region. Awaken China, Taiwan, and all the islands in the surrounding waters to Your love.
