What do you want for your life?

If Jesus stood before you right now asking you that question, how would you answer Him?

I had a dream one night of those who know Christ heading toward a curtain, and I knew somehow that heaven was behind that curtain and that these were those who were going there as they finished their life here on earth. I felt their excitement and rejoiced with them. But then, I heard Jesus whisper in my ear, “You know you can go there too.”  

Suddenly, I was running up the steps, and a huge angel named Joy opened the curtain for me to step through. I found myself in a lower level of heaven filled with classrooms, where those who didn’t have a chance to learn some of the basic things of Christ while they were on earth could learn them now that they were in heaven.

Joy took me down a hall on a guided tour, and I saw flashes of light coming out through the window of one of the classrooms. Inside appeared to be a raucous party. As I peered through the window, I saw people from all walks of life—street kids, homeless, rich, people from all different ethnicities and occupations—laughing exuberantly. Some held their stomachs. Others’ cheeks were striped with wet, joyous tears. Some even danced around with their hands in the air.

The room was filled with acceptance and … Joy. That was what they were learning the fullness of that they didn’t have the chance to learn on earth. 

Lord, set us free from the strongholds and wrong processes that hold us back from oneness with You. Teach us now, while we’re here on earth, to experience the fullness of Your joy. Galatians 5:22-23. Don’t let us get caught up in petty arguments or comparisons, jealousy or anger, prejudices or selfishness. Set us free, Lord, to love You with all our heart and to love others.
