BANGLADESH: Fire broke out in the Kutupalong refugee camp in Ukhiya, burning more than 1,000 shelters last Saturday and leaving about 7,000 Rohingya people homeless.
We ask You, Lord, to please provide for their needs, especially their need for You. Meet them in their dreams, bring Christians to them to shine Your love, and open their hearts to believe in You.
PHILIPPINES: A 7.1 magnitude earthquake shook the province of Davao Occidental on Tuesday, a month after a 7.6 quake hit Mindanao.
Thank You for the ways You have rescued many who were in danger. Heal the wounded and help restore what was lost. Give every heart a hunger for You, Lord. Bring the good news to them in a way they can easily understand. Awaken them to Your love and save them.
PAPUA NEW GUINEA: At least 15 people died in protests, looting and rioting in the cities of Port Moresby and Lae on Wednesday after hundreds of soldiers, prison workers, public servants and police officers left their jobs in protest of a pay cut.
Lord, what they have needed is more police, not less. Please provide for these needs, calm each person’s heart, and most of all, show them their greatest need is for You. Open their hearts to hunger for the One who has much more for their lives than they every imagined, and give them courage to choose You as Savior.
SOMALIA: Al-Shabab terrorists killed one and took six people hostage from a UN helicopter that made an emergency landing in hostile territory on Wednesday.
We ask You, Lord, to please be a Shield around the hostages. Keep them from harm. Open the way for their rescue or escape. In this dark time, comfort them so personally with Your light and love they will remember what they have heard of You and cry out to You for help. Then answer them, Lord, like only You can, and save them. Meet these Muslim terrorists in their dreams and give them fear of the Lord and a spiritual hunger so strong they will seek Truth with all their hearts and find Jesus.
USA: Let’s pray for Congress and other branches of the government dealing with many decisions right now that affect millions of people. Pray also for those running for president, that God will raise up the man He has chosen for that position and move hearts to vote that way this year.
Lord, please give each leader wisdom right now. Move every mind and heart to lay down selfish, vengeful agendas and do what is right; or move them out of the way. Bring this country back to the values that offer life and hope to its people and to the world. And save our lawmakers, O God. Raise up those who will fight for what’s right, who will follow Your lead and who will bless our nation, not oppress it. Raise up the man You have chosen for president, and guide the masses to vote him into place.
Heavy rainfall, high winds, blizzards, floods and tornadoes rolled over much of the US this week. At least four people died. Four tornadoes caused extensive damage in Florida’s panhandle. A tornado in South Carolina left 18,000 without power and one person dead. More blizzards and tornados are expected this weekend.
Lord, please protect families from harm, and do it in a way they will know it is You. When they cry out to You, save them, O God. Provide for all their needs and draw them to Yourself. Bring Christians to them to love them into Your arms during this difficult time and to show them the peace and joy that come from resting in Your arms and placing their lives in Your hands.
