As we continue praying for the Israel-Gaza conflict and for the hostages by name, let’s also lift up those suffering in Ukraine, where Russian forces have relentlessly assaulted the city of Avdiivka non-stop for almost a week. Ukrainian forces destroyed hundreds of Russian tanks and armored vehicles, and killed thousands of Russian troops.
Lord, please fill Ukraine with Your angel armies, fighting for what is right and good, fighting for a future with You in it. Meet every person in powerful ways, so that they feel Your presence near. When they cry out to You, answer them, O God. Rescue the lost on both sides, heal them, deliver them and draw them into Your arms. Frustrate every effort of the enemy to kill and destroy. We speak LIFE over Avdiivka and all of Ukraine. We call upon the One who is Life to reveal Yourself to those who do not yet know You, whether in Ukraine’s armies or Russia’s. Stop the fighting, Lord, please. Have mercy. Bring justice. Meet every person affected by this war in such powerful ways they will hunger for You with all their hearts, surrender to Your love and grace and be saved. Guard the innocent from harm. So many children and youth have been caught up in this war. Heal them. Rescue them from the evil plans Satan has for their lives. Show them and their families such love through Christians and through Your voice and touch that they will decide now, today, to spend their lives fighting for Love, for true freedom, and for Your eternal purposes. For the many Christians who stayed in Ukraine, shine Your light through them into the darkness. As they gather to worship and to pray, draw the lost in to meet You. Provide over-abundantly for Christians’ needs, so they can share abundantly with others in need. Empower them to speak hope, peace, freedom and even joy in the midst of so much suffering that hearts will be transformed and Your gospel will spread like wildfire all across Eastern Europe and beyond.
