Thank you for your prayers for Missionary Aviation Fellowship pilot Ryan Koher, who was imprisoned in Mozambique nearly a year ago. He and his family are now back in the US!
Last week, a judge lifted the restrictions that prevented Ryan from providing his services as a pilot for Ambassador Aviation, MAF’s business name in Mozambique, and authorized that Ryan’s passport be returned to him. This allowed Ryan to leave the country.
Praise the Lord for this answer to our prayers! Ryan, his wife Annabel, and their two preschool sons plan to enjoy an extended period of rest, reunion with family, as well as time at MAF headquarters.
The two volunteers for the orphanage that were also detained have had all travel restrictions lifted as well. Praise God!
“We are praising God for being who He is throughout this season. No matter what the outcome, we always knew we could rest in Him & His sovereignty. We are thankful that it was His will to bring us to this point where we now have Ryan’s passport & are back in the US for a period of time before returning to Mozambique.
“Thank you all for praying for us, and please continue to do so as we wait for the investigation to be fully resolved.
“’Then everyone will fear and will tell about God’s work, for they will understand what he has done. The righteous one rejoices in the Lord and takes refuge in him; all those who are upright in heart will offer praise.’

MAF writes: “Please continue to pray that the ongoing investigation of Ryan and the orphanage volunteers will conclude and that the case will be dismissed. If you wish to pass along words of encouragement and praise to the Kohers, you may email them at prayforpilotryan@maf.org.”
Lord, thank You for the way You sustained Ryan, and the volunteers, W.J. and Eric, during their imprisonment. Thank You also for the way You used them to encourage other prisoners and share about Your love. And thank You for this gift of Ryan’s family being able to travel back to the US to rest and see extended family. Thank You also for the lifting of travel restrictions for W.J. and Eric. Please give the three men favor with authorities and bring forth a quick resolution, with their case completely dropped, no charges and no trial. Use all of these faithful servants any way You desire for Your glory. May all who meet them or hear of their story feel drawn to You because of their love for the people of Mozambique and their kindness, forgiveness, joy and peace. We ask You also, Lord, to bring an end to the violence in Mozambique. Protect the children, the women, the elderly, the Christians, the Jews and every person evil men have targeted for harm. Visit Muslim extremists in their dreams and lift the veil from their eyes so they will see who You truly are. Convict them of their horrendous sins and show them Jesus is the only Truth. Give them courage to lay down their weapons and choose the One who is Love as their Lord instead. Surround every Christian with Your angel armies and keep them safe from harm in such dramatic and miraculous ways their persecutors will fall to their knees in fear of the Lord, see the love, peace, joy and forgiveness on the faces of those who follow You, and choose LIFE instead of violence and death. Awaken Mozambique to You, O Lord. May Your Kingdom come to every household and heart.
