Clashes in Sudan, Mali

As we continue in our prayers for nations devastated by war, let’s also pray for these nations where tension has risen over the last few days:

SUDAN: At least 40 people died and more than 70 were injured in a drone attack on an open market in Khartoum amidst clashes between the military and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces on Sunday. More than 4,000 people have died so far in a four-month-long battle for control of the capital. Sudan is nearly 92% Muslim, with 141 people groups unreached with the gospel of Christ.

MALI: At least 64 people were killed in two separate attacks on an army base and a Niger River passenger boat last week. The violence came after an Al-Qaeda-linked alliance, called the Support Group for Islam and Muslims, announced it would blockade Timbuktu. Mali is nearly 88% Muslim with 43 unreached people groups.

Lord, please stop the violence. Bring to justice those who torture and kill. Replace lies with Truth, hatred with a desire for Love so strong extremists will lay down their weapons, repent and seek Your salvation. Give all Muslims a craving for a better way, for salvation, for a God who loves, heals and restores, for a nation that blesses its people not wars against itself. Make a way for the unreached to hear Your good news in a way they can easily understand. Translate Your Word into their many languages and make it available to every person. Meet Muslims in their dreams and give them visions of You. Lift the veil from their eyes so they will see You as You truly are. Open the way for Christian aid workers to come in and bring healing, safety, provisions and Your gospel to those in need. Make Christians beacons of light to the lost, showing them where to find the peace they long for. Multiply Your church by the thousands in these nations, Lord, and change the face of the land by Your hand of mercy. Awaken every mind and heart to Truth like only You can.
