Throughout the Muslim world, Christian women and girls are abducted at an alarming rate of at least two per day for the purpose of forcing them to convert to Islam. But in Egypt last month, a forced conversion failed when the Christian mother tortured for her faith held fast to Christ, and then was rescued by authorities.
A wife, mother and minister at her church, Najma awoke blindfolded with her hands tied. But when her kidnappers pressed her to deny Jesus, “I told them, ‘I can’t renounce my faith, even if you kill me. Death is better for me. Dying for Christ is gain for me.’” Throughout her time of confinement, she prayed, confident that her God would perform a miracle.
Meanwhile, her husband filed a police report, and their church leaders, as well as government officials also got involved. The authorities tracked her down through video surveillance footage and rescued her. Now she is safe at home with her family, praise God.

Thank You, God, for this miracle. Thank You for all those who got involved and fought for her freedom. And thank You for the way You sustained her and held her fast to You, even through torture. We ask You now for her abductors, that they would remember her steadfast spirit and peace. Give them such a hunger for You, they will lay down their hatred, violence and false religion, and choose You, O God of Love. For You alone are God. There is no other besides You. You have proven Your might through this woman of faith. Now, strike these evildoers with fear of the Lord. Visit them in their dreams. Speak to them throughout the day. Lift the veil from their eyes so they will see You as You truly are.
For other families whose loved ones are missing, please comfort them and give them strength. Build networks of caring and courageous law-enforcement officers, special ops units and others who will do what it takes to stop abductions, bring down trafficking rings, dry up their funding, and rescue those in danger.
Strike abductors with fear of the Lord. When they reach out to take someone, intervene, O God. Stand in the way. Fumble their hands. Block their every move. Press in with laws, people who intervene, law enforcement officers, angel armies and more to frustrate their efforts and force them to abandon their evil plans. Meet them in their dreams. Let them see with their own eyes Your angels guarding the innocent. Give them such powerful encounters with You that they tremble in fear and fall to their knees in repentance and surrender. Put Bibles in their hands. Connect them with the Gospel in miraculous ways, so that they know beyond any doubt You are calling them to Yourself. And save them, O God, by Your mighty hand. Forgive their sins and transform their minds and hearts, conforming them to Yours. Use former traffickers who now follow Christ, to expose trafficking networks and shut them down, rescuing abducted women and returning them to safety.
With Your felt presence, comfort each woman or girl who has been abducted and overwhelm her with Your peace. Meet her powerfully, especially in times of terror, shielding her from harm and showing her where You are and what You’re doing. Let her see Your angels protecting her and guiding her to safety. Heal her heart, mind and body, and set her free in all ways. As You rescue her, provide Christian counselors, ministers and others to help her to healing in Your arms.
We ask You, Lord, for an awakening in the hearts of every Muslim. Break them from the chains that bind them to the evil one, and open the way for their salvation. Give them a hunger for You so deep they will turn from their evil ways, seek You with all their hearts and find You.
