This past week, the Lord gave me three dreams over three nights. In the third, people held tickets to Heaven in their hands. Some clutched only their own, but others held onto several tickets meant for other people. They waved them about, excitedly telling the people they were meant for how to get one, while many ticket-holders stayed silent.
Whose ticket are you holding? Who has God placed in your life for you to share the Good News with? Have you told them? Or have you been silent? What is holding you back?
Lord, You died in our place so that we could have eternal life. And yet, we have hoarded this most precious of all treasures. We have clutched our own free ticket to Heaven (Ephesians 2:8-9), silenced by fear, selfishness and pride, while the lost You placed in our life for us to share with are dying without You. Whom have You asked us to share the Good News of Your salvation with, but we have not obeyed? O God, forgive us. So great is Your gift of eternal life, we should be telling everyone! Remind us to pray for the lost. Empower us to rise up out of our fear and pride to boldly speak about You. Give the lost around us a hunger for You. Move them to ask us questions, and then give us answers from Your heart straight to theirs. Open up opportunities for deep conversations about what matters most, and empower us to speak and do just what they need to hear and see to be convinced of Your truth. Convince them beyond any doubt that You are the One they’ve been looking for, that there is no other path to salvation, freedom and peace. Only in You do we have forgiveness for our sins. Only in You do we have eternal life. Please don’t let our carelessness and prayerlessness get in the way of their salvation. How selfish we have been to not share about Heaven with those who are on their way to hell. Don’t count our disobedience against them, God. Rise up and fight for them. Overcome our weaknesses and use us for Your glory. Show them the Way. Convince them of Truth. To those headed for eternal death, offer them Life everlasting. Awaken their hearts. Don’t let their day of salvation pass them by. Burden us for the lost, Lord, and armor us to fight alongside You for their souls. Break the chains the enemy has used to hold them back from taking that “ticket.” Set us free from our strongholds that have sent a message other than Your love and grace. Overcome us with Your mercy. Overwhelm them with Your love. Set the captives free. May Your Kingdom come to their hearts and invade every corner of our own. For the honor, glory and power of Your name, Jesus. Amen.
