Father, we come to You now to ask You for our children who have grown up hearing Your name and yet have chosen a life apart from You. Please fight for them. Invade their dreams at night and their thoughts by day. Tackle every lie and conquer it with Truth. Cancel every scheme the enemy has against them to keep them from You, and topple every barrier. Climb over the rubble of unforgiveness, anger, hurt, bitterness, pride and selfishness and step into their space and show them Your love and grace. Give them such a hunger for You they cannot resist Your advances. Whenever they are alone, step in so near they can feel Your breath upon their cheek and hear Your voice calling them to come home to You. For only You are their true Home. Only in You will they find the acceptance they are looking for in all the wrong places. Only You are that Faithful Friend and True Love they long for. Father, if we as parents have done anything that our children hold against us, please step in and mend those breaches. Open up conversations where communication has been blocked and give us favor with our children. Fill us with such love, peace and joy they will see the difference in our lives and long to be with us, to ask us why all that fruit (Galatians 5:22-23) is there and how to have it too. For so many of us, we have only just now begun to know You in the ways that we wish we had long before, as we were raising our children. Please cover over the crimes of our past, Lord, and show our children the difference You have made in our lives. Show them we are not that person they remember, give them courage to forgive us, and grant us new favor. And most of all, O Lord, please save them. We declare NEW LIFE over them now, in the name of Jesus. HOPE. SALVATION. WISDOM. TRUTH. MERCY. GRACE and FREEDOM. Bring them into the situations where they will meet You face-to-face and come to know You as You truly are. In their times of need, bring Christians into their paths to show them Your love. Bring faithful friends to them who will challenge them to seek You, and seek You together with them. Guide them into churches and groups that will love them into Your arms. And save them, O Lord. Forgive us for the ways we sought to do what we thought best as we raised them, rather than asking You what You wanted to do in their lives through us. Forgive us for the ways we neglected them or focused on our own selfish needs rather than recognizing their struggles. Forgive us for the ways we did or said things that turned them away from You. Forgive us, O Lord, for all the many ways we have sinned, and redeem that time now. Bring forth a new season of redemption into our lives and our relationship together. For You knew those things would happen before they ever did and You already had a plan to use even our mistakes for Your glory. We ask now, Lord, for You to fulfill that plan. Raise our children up from whatever pit the enemy has trapped them in, and give them a Solid Rock to stand on, with feet set in Your purposes. Arm them fully and show them how to fight the enemy who has sought possession over their mind and heart. Declare now, Lord, “This one is Mine,” and destroy the enemy’s hold on them today for all eternity. May they know You truly, love You deeply, experience Your lavish love for them, and choose to walk in the power of Your love all the days of their lives. In Your name. Amen.
