About 115 people were wounded and at least 35 died in a fiery explosion at a car repair shop and gas station in Dagestan, Russia Monday. The same day, two people died and five were injured in an oil field explosion in West Siberia.
Also Monday, at least 12 people died and dozens were injured after an explosion in a market area bakery near Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
About 26 people died and 50 were injured in an explosion in Finote Selam, northwestern Ethiopia Sunday, amidst heavy fighting between government forces and local Fano militia in the Amhara region.
As the war continues in Ukraine and fires in Maui (death count is now near 100), let’s continue to remember those suffering from fires and explosions throughout the world.
Lord, please comfort families who have lost loved ones, homes and property. Heal those who are injured, and do it in a way that they will know it is You. Calm their fears, and make a way for them to hear of Your perfect love. Draw near to every person who is grieving or hurting at this time, and let them feel Your presence, hear Your voice. Visit them in their dreams. Invade their thoughts throughout the day. Bring Christians around them to comfort them and share Your Good News, to help them rebuild their lives and know the God who offers them salvation, joy and hope for the future. In regions isolated from the Gospel, make a way for them to hear Your message of love such that they can clearly understand. Give every person who is hurting, grieving, traumatized or needy a deep, deep hunger for You. Open their hearts and minds wide to receive you. From out of the ashes, bring forth Awakening, Lord. May those who have resisted Your touch now turn to You and gladly receive Your mercy and love. Rebuild their homes and lives on the sure foundation of Your love. In Your name. Amen.
