An estimated 1.7 billion children worldwide experience abuse (about 3 million within the USA). In most cases, that abuse happens by the hand of a parent or other family member, but an estimated 8 million children go missing every year, anywhere between 400,000 to 800,000 of those within the USA. In addition, many children grow up under oppressive governments, forbidden to know about Christ’s love. Schools become a place to twist history, foment hatred, teach lies and force children onto paths contrary to God’s.
Father, we speak LIFE and HOPE, peace and healing over the children of this nation and around the world. Be their Shield. Guard them from all harm. Intervene on their behalf and block the hand of the enemy upon their lives. Rescue those who have been abducted and get them to safety. Plant them in families who will love them and raise them to feel Your love. If a parent or someone else approaches to harm or abuse, distract them, Lord, and give that child a way of escape. Bind every offender. Make them unable to carry through with the evil acts they plan. Break the enemy chains off those who abuse, and set them free from the strongholds and demons that move them to do evil things. Then get up in their face, invade their space and pour Your LOVE over them. Draw them so irresistibly to Yourself, they will fall to their knees, weep over their sin and choose You as their Savior. Set those children free to know You, Lord, and to be healed by Your perfect love. Push out the armies of darkness from every home, and invade it with Your light. Fill every space where the children are held with Your presence and Your angels. Give every heart such a hunger for You that families will drop their evil ways and pick up the Bible instead. Remind them what this life is all about, why each one of us was created — to know You, to feel Your great love for us, to love You back, and to love others through Your love. Change governments, families and circumstances, Lord, for the generations yet to come. Overcome every inch of darkness with Your Light, and raise up our children as a chosen generation to bring Jesus’ love to the whole world. Pour out Your Spirit. Invade our dreams. Overcome lies with truth. Influence our children for good, not evil. Heal those whose minds have been twisted. Chase out their fear. Give them peace. Set them free from traumatic memories. Bring to them Christians who care and who will help them into Your arms, loving them back to the wholeness they were created for through oneness with You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
