China: Imprisoned Mom Boldly Shares Christ

Chinese officials arrested a mother for gathering together with other Christians to worship God after the government had forbidden their church to meet. In a jail cell with nine other women, she openly told stories of Jesus. The guards forbid her to “hold church,” but each time they moved her to another cell, she shared her testimony and prayed for every woman she met, singing songs of God’s faithfulness. Closing churches, raiding house gatherings and harassing, threatening and imprisoning Christians for their faith are just some of the ways China’s Communist regime has sought to stamp out any evidence of Christianity in the East Asian nation where nearly 140 million people have yet to hear the Good News about Christ.

Lord, thank You for this woman’s faith, courage and love. Protect her and her family from any harm. Remind the women in that prison of what they heard about You, draw them all the closeru, save those who are still lost, and disciple the who have chosen You as Savior. Give every incarcerated believer all throughout China opportunities to share Your love with those around them, and anoint them powerfully to tell Your Good News. Bring whole prisons to faith in You, including guards. Let nothing stop the move of Your Spirit. Whatever the enemy means for evil, flip it around, O God, to bring about Your good and perfect purposes.

Awaken China to You. Give every man, woman and child such a hunger for You they will seek You with all their heart and find You. Jeremiah 29:13. Strengthen the weary and oppressed. Give courage to the fearful. Protect the innocent. Heal those who are hurting. Speak tenderly to those who have been traumatized and set them free from their oppressors. Feed the hungry. Provide for the poor and needy. Be near to those who are persecuted. Raise up government officials with a heart to bless their people, not oppress them. To open the pathway to basic freedoms, especially the freedom to worship. Shift out of office those bent on persecution, corruption and all forms of evil. Guide leaders to make decisions You have already decided, Lord, even if they don’t recognize You as Sovereign. Bring forth the downfall of oppression and Godlessness, and usher in a new era of freedom and hope for China, and a return to good morals. Give Christians favor with those in authority over them and raise them up into positions that bring about positive change in their country. May their kindness, love and uprightness move hearts all around them to walk in the same and to seek the God of Love who offers abundant life and freedom. John 10:10.

Still so many millions in China have been cut off from the Gospel message, Lord. Make Your Word available to every person of every tribe and tongue. Speak to them in their dreams and all throughout the day. May those who have worshipped ancestors, Buddhism, Communism, money, sex or anything else lay down their idols and choose You as their only Way. Bring Christians into their path to boldly love and minister to them. Raise up the church in this season of great persecution to love like never before, to forgive their persecutors, pray for them, and share the Good News with them. Empower every believer to be a light in the darkness pointing all eyes to You. Give them courage to endure and overcome through Your love, even as those in the New Testament endured persecution and death for Your name’s sake. Rescue those who are in danger. Make a way of escape for those who are imprisoned, trapped or pursued. In Your mighty power, perform signs and miracles as You have before in the face of those who persecute Your children in China. Give those bent on persecution such a powerful encounter with You, as Paul experienced, they turn from evil to follow the God of Love.

Break every chain, and open up the way for every heart to know the Living God and be saved. Shield around every church, pastor, and Christian. Hide them and their families from those who wish to do them harm, and empower them to boldly share Your love, leading millions to faith in You, who will then spread the Gospel all throughout China and beyond. Multiply the church in China, Lord of the Harvest. For every church that has been raided and disbanded, plant 10,000 new churches on fire for You. For every Christian who has been persecuted, bring 10,000 more people to faith. In Your name we pray. Amen.
