Prayer is not a one-way “talk,” where we ask God to do for us the things we want and then get upset at Him when He doesn’t answer the way we expect. Prayer is a two-way conversation. In fact, the longer you walk with God, the better you know His Word, and the closer you draw to Him you will realize the most important part of prayer is listening. Knowing His heart. Laying down all your wants and desires, opinions and ideas to seek and follow His.
Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
Galatians 5:25 NIV
Today, I felt the Lord leading to share this word from His heart for His body. I hope it blesses and challenges you.
You believe that you must succeed to be accepted. That you must succeed even when you’re not accepted. That you must succeed to show them they’re wrong. That if you succeed you will be someone of worth. My Gospel is so much simpler than that. When you seek to succeed, you roll right past Me and try to make something happen. Roll WITH Me. IN Me. BECAUSE of Me. I know your heart and how you’re for Me. But you think others will notice Me more when I’m successful — when I ‘succeed’ in healing, in drawing a heart back to Myself…. I just AM. Success is not something on My agenda. I AM. This whole universe is here for Me and because of Me. I have no need for someone to notice Me. I just AM. Loud. Clear. Beautiful. Worthy. God. Almighty. All. Your eyes are in the wrong place. Look at Me and only Me. My Son never thought of ‘succeeding’; He only thought of doing My will. John 5:19. Walk like Jesus.”
