In the midst of all the world is facing, God’s been calling me to report briefly on the news here at the Prayer Wall, but deeply on His heart. Wars, devastation, atrocities — none of this is new. We live in a fallen world where sin has made a terrible mark. We as Christ’s body must rise up from out of the sin and devastation to speak forth LOVE now like never before. We must PRAY for His kingdom to come to every heart. For the Gospel to reach every person in powerful ways. For the chains to break and souls to be set free to know the God who created us for GOOD and special purposes.
People of Light, run into the darkness when God calls you, because that is how shadow gives way — under the weight of extravagant love.
Wherever you are, lay down every hindrance to your witness and get your heart right with God. The closer we walk with Him, the more powerfully His love will shine through us. Learn to recognize God’s voice so you can pray in the Spirit and walk out in the joy of His empowering and felt presence.
Because when prayer is the work, missions happens.
Lord, in John 16:33, You said, “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Remind us every moment through every trial we suffer that we are in this world but not of it. John 15:9. That the One who has overcome the world is here with us right now, inviting us to do great things together with You. John 14:12. In the midst of sickness and pain, darkness and evil, You call us to be light. Tear down every barrier we have allowed to block us from Your felt presence and from listening to Your voice and following Your Spirit’s leading. Ground us in Your Word so powerfully the truth becomes who we are and what we live. Flow Your love through us so contagiously everyone who meets us will be drawn into the River of Life and find freedom through the cross. For You, Jesus, are the heart of every matter. You are what this life is for. Remind us it is not for us to feel comfortable or for everything to go the way we think it should, but for us to know You and for the nations to come to the light of Your glory. Make us that light, Lord, shining Your glory for all to see.
