30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening

Verse for contemplation: 2 Chronicles 7:14

Yesterday, we began our 30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening March 23-April 21 here at the Prayer Wall. Throughout the next month, we will journey through the nations of the world, praying for unreached peoples, persecuted Christians and their persecutors.

What country are you living in? Is that different from where your parents are from or where you are raising your children now? Today, wherever you live or call home, pray for those countries or cities.

Suggested topics for prayer:

• leaders, lawmakers
• current issues
• schools, teachers
• influencers, media
• churches, pastors
• youth, upcoming leaders
• freedom and healing
• for every heart to turn to God

Prayer starter:

Lord, please awaken this country to You. Give the lost a hunger for You that won’t stop until they lay down everything they’ve been chasing after that’s not You and finally surrender to Your love. We pray especially for leaders, teachers, and other influencers, that You will raise up Christians who love You with all their heart to step out and take the lead. Tear down what is evil and build up what is good, Lord. Raise up newscasters, musicians, social media and movie stars who walk in humility and integrity. Restore God-centered family values, husbands and wives faithful to each other and children growing up in homes filled with love. Take away bad influences in schools, and open the way for faithful loving Christians to be favored. Raise up teachers and students who shine for You and care for others, who speak truth in the face of lies and draw everyone into Your love. Wherever there is abuse, Lord, stand in the way. Block assaults and break-ins. Protect the innocent. Bring justice to those who refuse to repent. For victims who are trapped, make a way of escape. Let them know You are near and heal them. Raise up pastors, evangelists, youth ministers, counselors and other Christians who will carry Your light into the darkness, bringing hope to the hopeless. Raise up lawmakers and government leaders who will truly care about our citizens, who will follow Your lead and bring forth Your purposes. Open the way for laws that protect the lives of the innocent, put away criminals, free up the police to do their jobs well, guard freedom, especially freedom of religion, and pave the way for all to know You are the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Parallel Prayer: Our 30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening coincides with Ramadan. March 23-April 21, Muslims throughout the world are fasting and seeking God right now. Let’s pray they find Him! If you know personally of Muslims in your nation or community, pray for them by name.

Lord, we ask You, please for a great awakening to Your love in every Muslim heart, home and community in my home country. Give them such a deep hunger for You, they will see their need for a Savior and search for You until they find You. May they walk out of their mosques and into Your arms. Point them to Christians or a church that will love them deeply and share with them clearly Your plan of salvation. Open their eyes to see the love, joy and peace that have been stolen from them, and give them boldness to bring their family with them into Your arms, no matter the cost. Protect those who seek You, Lord, and when they find You, make them such bright lights in their community many will come to the light of Your love and be saved. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Dinner and a Prayer: Each day during these 30 days, we will share with you ideas for special family prayer times, including a suggested menu to go with that day’s prayer theme. Today’s suggestions:

Serve favorite dishes from your home country for supper, and talk together about cultural or other barriers that have kept the lost from choosing Christ in the country where you live and/or your home country. Then pray for people you know who are lost, government leaders, schools, local businesses and others as God leads. Take a walk through your neighborhood after dinner and pray for those who live in every house. If you meet someone along the way, ask them if there’s anything they would like you to pray for, and then pray for them. You can also go to government buildings, business districts, homeless shelters, or wherever God leads and prayerwalk or drive through those neighborhoods praying together.
