Earthquake Kills Thousands in Turkey, Syria

A devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Gaziantep in southeast Turkey near the border of Syria yesterday, causing the deaths of more than 4,000 people in both countries. Thousands are injured and many are still missing. Let’s pray.

Lord, please protect and rescue those who are trapped. Keep them safe and warm. Guide rescuers to find them. Comfort those who mourn and heal those who are wounded. Make a way for those who are left out in the freezing weather and snow to have warm blankets and a roof over their heads. Provide food, water and electricity where people are stranded without. Open up homes of kind people who will welcome in those who have lost everything and care for them. Whenever someone calls upon You, hear them and answer in a way they will know it is You. Let them feel You near. Speak to them clearly so they understand, and draw them into Your arms of love. Push through the darkness with Your light. Awaken every heart to You. Give every person such a deep hunger for You, they will seek You with all their hearts and find You. Reveal Yourself to them in such a way that they can clearly see Your invitation to salvation. Visit them in their dreams. Give them visions of You. Surround them with Your angels and heal and rescue all those in trouble. So many have lost businesses, homes, loved ones and more. O God, please have mercy. Reach into every family and heart and SPEAK in such a way that they hear You and respond. For only You can carry them through this time of great hardship. Bring Christians to them to show them Your love, to comfort them in their time of sorrow, to share Your Good News, to mourn with them and help them rebuild their lives. Appoint rescuers, doctors, nurses, counselors, builders, and relief workers to share Your love in visible ways and speak the Gospel such that they will understand who You are and turn to You. Open wide every heart to seek Truth and find You.
