Haiti: Violence at Highest Levels

Gang violence in Haiti has increased all the more these last three months, placing it at the highest levels in several decades. Abductions have also increased, children cannot attend school, government has been impeded and residents are afraid to leave their homes. Thousands of Haitians are fleeing the island, including nearly 400 migrants recently intercepted on a dangerously overloaded boat near the Bahamas.

Father God, please have mercy. Protect the innocent. Make a way for children to grow up in freedom, with the opportunity of a good education. Please watch over those who are fleeing and protect them from harm. Protect women and girls especially from abuse, and all citizens from abduction, violence, hunger and disease outbreaks. Give police officers wisdom to subdue the violence and protect citizens. Please guard Christians and innocent people everywhere in Haiti, and especially those who are trapped in the midst of fighting in Port au Prince. Save their lives. Be a Shield around them. March Your angel armies into the midst of the turmoil and let the violent see You coming and tremble at the sight of You. Haunt them in their dreams and call them to Yourself throughout the day. Each time an evil plot is formed, foil it. Capture every one of those who are causing harm, make their guns misfire, force them to stop what they’re doing, and bring them to justice. Miraculously, Lord. For You are the God of Miracles. Come and meet the Haitian people in their time of need and gather them up into Your arms to be carried and protected by You through the mayhem. Bring forth leaders who will love his country, and a police force that is well fortified to combat and crush every gang and violent offender. Wherever there are Christians who are trapped right now in affected areas, please call them to organize prayer meetings with their neighbors. Multiply their resources abundantly and use their prayers to miraculously heal those who have been harmed or who are starving or ill, so that all will see that You are the God of Love, that You see them, You love them, and You care for their needs. Help Christians openly share of their provisions and Your love and healing with those in need, and use this terrible crisis to bring many lost into Your Kingdom. Including the murderers, Lord. Touch their hearts so deeply with Your love, they open wide to receive Your forgiveness and salvation, and then turn to lead other gang members to faith in You. Awaken Haiti to Your love and salvation now, Father. May anarchy pass away and Your Kingdom come soon to the people of Haiti who need You so desperately.
