At least seven people are dead in Alabama and Georgia after more than 30 tornadoes ripped through several states Thursday. And the death toll from many days of flooding, power outages and storms in California is now up to 18. Let’s pray.
Lord, please protect those in need. Provide for their needs, give them shelter and keep them warm and safe. Comfort those who mourn. Heal those who are wounded. Be near to those whose homes and livelihoods have been devastated by the tornadoes and lead them to find their hope in You. Provide for their needs in a way they will know it is You. Bring loving Christians to help them rebuild their lives and to share your Good News in the midst of their hardship. For those who have been running from You, but now find themselves with no roof over their head, give them a deep hunger that drives them to return to You. Open their eyes to see Your greatness and love, their ears to hear Your voice calling them to You, their minds to discern Truth from lies, and their hearts to yearn for the more they were created for (John 10:10). When they cry out to You, answer them, Lord, in powerful ways. Bring Christians to them to show them hospitality and love them into Your arms. Send Christian counselors to help those affected by trauma to healing and freedom. Bring forth something beautiful from out of so much tragedy like only You can (Romans 8). Abundantly bless Christians who have lost homes or businesses so they can help others in need, and do it in such a miraculous way, the lost who hear the stories of Your faithfulness will see Your goodness and turn to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
