In light of all the evil conquests of several world leaders at this time, let’s take comfort from this truth:
“All people are like grass,
1 Peter 1:24-25 NIV
and all their glory is like the flowers of the field;
the grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of the Lord endures forever.”
Kingdoms rise and kingdoms fall. Only one Kingdom lasts forever.
As we pray for the fall of oppressive regimes, and the rise of leaders who will care about their citizens and seek to bless them, let’s take a moment to ask the Lord what conflicts we ourselves have been in lately. What have you been fighting about and whom have you hurt in the process?

Whose Side Am I On?
Lord, please show me any way I have acted oppressively toward others. How have I said or done hurtful things or manipulated people into doing what I want? How has my anger, selfishness or bitterness made someone want to avoid me? Have I been unkind? Ungenerous to those in need? Show me, Lord, how I can be a part of easing others’ pain and drawing them into Your arms. For You, O God, are a loving, just and merciful King. Show me how to be Your ambassador of Light in a world full of darkness. Remind me how to fight for the things that matter most. Not for me to get what I want or for people to treat me the way I think I deserve. But to love. To fight for their freedom from darkness. To be a warrior of Light. In Your name. Amen.
