Since China reversed its zero-Covid policy at the beginning of December, we have received numerous reports from within China of Christians suffering from the illness. It appears nearly the entire country has been affected. This is especially difficult for minority people groups and others in isolated villages who have no medical care available to them, and for those in areas where indoor heating is not available, even in freezing conditions. Some estimates say perhaps 9,000 people are dying a day from Covid and by mid January that number could rise to 25,000 a day, but no official numbers have been released.
Lord, we ask You, please, to be a Shield of protection around every Christian in danger of illness or other tragedy. Please keep them healthy and strong, and bless them abundantly so they can also bless others in need. Multiply their resources and their immunity so they can pray for those who are ailing and reach out to them with acts of kindness. When Your people cry out to You in prayer, Lord, answer them, please. Heal those who are sick, and even raise the dead. Nothing is impossible for You. As people all throughout China struggle with Covid, give them a hunger for You so desperate they will pray to You. When they do, please hear them, O Lord, and answer them. Don’t let even one heart seeking You miss where to find You. Show Yourself strong on each person’s behalf. Bring Bibles, Christians, websites, television shows, radio broadcasts and other means to them so they can hear Your Good News and easily understand. Save them by the millions and transform them so drastically, others will see and be drawn to You. Visit them in their dreams and even in their waking hours. Lift the veil from their eyes so they can see You as You truly are. And awaken every heart in China to You. May they know the God of Love and Healing, the only One who can save them and give them abundant life and freedom, even in the midst of great oppression and difficulty. The only One who can give them eternal life. Please pursue every heart in China with Your love and turn all eyes to You. Rescue them from evil and bring them into Your Kingdom of Light. Father, now China has give the green light for carriers of Covid to travel throughout the world once again. Please protect the world from another dangerous round of this illness and give governments wisdom. Be a Shield around every believer all throughout the world and use them to bless, pray for and help those in need. In the midst of sickness, O God, You shine so beautifully. For You are Healer. Please do Your thing and show the world Your vast love and power. In Your name, Jesus. Amen.
