Looking Back, Up, Forward

Yesterday, we began a series of posts for seeking God’s covering and guidance in the coming year. As this year ends and the new one begins, take some time with the Lord to 

  1. Look BACK at 2022 to declare all the beautiful things you saw God do. 
  2. Look UP to thank Him and to bless this past year, even though it’s been hard. 
  3. Look forward to 2023, asking the Lord what He wants to do this next year and surrendering it to Him.

Lord, remind me of all the beautiful ways You came through for our family this year. What were some of the things You did in our hearts to draw us closer to You and deepen our faith? What were the hardships that You helped us overcome by carrying us in Your arms? What were some of the ways we stepped out in faith to obey You and then watched what You did? We thank You, Lord. Thank You for Your constant faithfulness. Grow us now in our faithfulness to You. It’s easy for us to get caught up in our trials such that they loom so large before us we forget that You are greater. That for You nothing is impossible. Matthew 19:26. In this coming year, please show us what You want to do in us and through us. Draw us all the closer to You. Make Your priorities our priorities. Lead us on Your paths and give us wisdom not to veer off in our own directions. Teach us how to pray all the more diligently to see Your Kingdom come among the nations and in our own country, in our neighbors’ hearts and in our own families’. May 2023 be Your year, a dawning of a new awakening in the hearts of every person all throughout the earth, beginning with me.
