Continued Prayers for Iran

Since protests began against Iran’s oppressive regime in September, reports have surfaced of 18,000 people arrested and more than 450 killed, including 63 children. Last week, the niece of Iran’s supreme leader was arrested for speaking out against his regime.

Iran is 98% Muslim, with 84 people groups still unreached with the Gospel. and ranks high on the list of most dangerous countries in the world for those who seek to know and follow Christ. Nevertheless, Islamic violence and oppression, not just against Christians but against Muslims, Kurds, women and children, has only served to fuel many Iranians’ hunger for Truth. Iran’s evangelical annual growth rate, in fact, is almost 20%, compared to a world average of 2.6%.

Let’s continue praying for those valiantly risking their lives to stand up for freedom, for persecuted Christians sharing Christ’s love in the midst of so much hatred and unrest (two were recently released from prison), for those seeking Christ to find Him, and for the children of Iran to grow up in safety and with the freedom to know and follow the King who died to set them free.
