In many countries throughout the world, Christians must worship the Lord in silence, cut off from other believers because of dangerous political climates that condone persecution of those who do not agree with their agendas.
After living almost three decades in one of those countries, where Christians are persecuted and where we could not legally meet together to worship with local believers or openly share Christ, and then fleeing that country in the middle of the night with only what we could carry, this Thanksgiving our family is particularly thankful we are worshipping together openly in a free country.
As we gather together as families this Thanksgiving, let’s remember our brothers and sisters throughout the world who do not have the freedom to worship God that we experience, and ask the Lord to continue protecting this freedom in the US and in other countries where it has been given so that generations to come will find Christ and live in the love, joy, peace and abundant life we were created for in Him. Galatians 5:22-23, John 10:10.
