After two years of war that plunged more than six million people into acute hunger, caused thousands of deaths, and displaced millions of families from their homes, the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) and the Ethiopian government agreed Wednesday evening to permanently end hostilities. Praise God! This is a direct answer to our prayers for the Peace Talks!
- Pray both the TPLF and Ethiopian forces will uphold their agreement to cease hostilities and protect the peoples of that region, especially in Tigray, Amhara and and Afar.
- Pray all violence, sexual and other abuse against the citizens of Tigray, Amhara and Afar will cease, and those who have been affected will find the Lord and be healed inside and out.
- Pray God will make the way for those who have lost their homes to rebuild their lives and have a chance to thrive.
- Pray aid will quickly make it to the 13 million people in desperate need due to malnourishment, hunger and lack of medical and other necessary supplies.
- Pray God will raise up Christian doctors, counselors and aid workers to help those in need, and the doors will be opened wide for them to go in. Pray God will empower them to share the Good News with the lost and they will have favor with authorities and all who meet them.
- Pray Christians within the region will also lend a hand, and faith will grow strong in the Lord. Pray He will fill believers with love, multiply their provisions, and use them to bless others abundantly, sharing the Gospel along with a clear demonstration of God’s love.
- Pray nominal Christians will meet true believers, know Christ personally and love and serve Him as their Lord and Savior.
- Pray God will awaken every heart to His love all throughout Ethiopia, and give the lost such a hunger for Him that when they hear the Gospel, they will believe and be saved.
- Pray for a church planting movement all throughout Ethiopia and beyond, with thousands turning to Christ.
- Pray the Bible will be translated into the languages of each of Ethiopia’s 37 unreached people groups, and every person will hear the Good News in a way they can easily understand. Pray every barrier will fall and the veil will be lifted so they will see Jesus as He truly is and receive Him with open arms.
- Pray God will show up in very real ways to those who have lived lives bent on violence, abuse and other evil. Pray He will break the chains that bind them to demons and set them free to encounter Him in life-changing ways. Pray He will show up in their dreams and talk to them throughout the day, telling them the truth of who He is. Pray they will meet loving Christians and long for the peace and joy they see in them, and ask them questions about Jesus. Pray they will repent, be saved, and share the Good News with others who will also repent and be saved.
