Outbreaks of cholera are coursing through Haiti and Lebanon, while Uganda fights ebola. Meanwhile, in The Gambia, 70 children died from cough syrup, and 100 children in Indonesia. Now, famine has pressed into East Africa, particularly in Somalia, where 30% of their children are suffering malnutrition. (In the 2011 Somalia famine, more than half of the 260,000 people who died were children under the age of six.)
Lord, please rescue the children. They need You so desperately. So many are dying without ever having a chance at life. These are only a few of the countries where children are suffering. Still so many millions more in Central Asia, the Middle East, Yemen, Latin America and Africa are suffering from hunger, floods, drought and violence. Father, please have mercy. Make a way for Your light to shine into these countries such that the darkness flees, and bring to justice all those who have perpetuated evil. Feed the children, Lord, like You fed Elijah. Make a way for them to eat, even when there seems to be no way. And most of all, show them Your love. Make a way for Your good news to reach them in a way they can easily receive. Open the doors wide for Christian aid workers to come in bringing food, medical supplies, counselors, doctors and others to help them through this crisis. We speak LIFE over the children, Lord, in Your precious name. PEACE over their countries. RAIN where there is drought. ABUNDANCE where crops have failed. And most of all, SALVATION for the many dying daily without the knowledge of Christ. Make the way for every person all throughout these devastated lands to hear the gospel and receive You as Savior. Use Christians in their midst to shine Your love and peace, bringing hope and showing mercy. May Your Kingdom come to them soon, Lord, before it’s too late. Awaken this world to Your love. Draw every child up into Your arms and save them.
